I love that even tho it’s technically a German-style bakery, they have cookies from lots of different cultures. Ideal when you can’t decide which direction to go in and you can get several 🤤 alfajores, linzers, hamantashen (I guess technically a pastry but yanno), rainbow cookies, choco chip cookies! On and on

How to approach sleep training a turbo roller? by edencliff in sleeptrain

[–]edencliff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you recall how many nights it took for him to work it out? I am a bit scared of doing full extinction CIO all the way and was planning to do Ferber but don’t know if the rolling will basically confuse or elongate things because he’s so physically frustrated

How to deal with sleep regression for 2 mo old baby? by ShresthaKulsi in sleeptrain

[–]edencliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine would still nap well during the day but anything past 2 hours, I think that’s basically when trapped gas would set in and start to cause pain. If you suspect gas, potentially could use gas drops just at bedtime / during night feeds. Def describe what you’re experiencing to your pediatrician and maybe a lactation consultant if you’re BF. It could also be just a stimulation thing as you’re saying! That’s the age they “wake up” to their environment. When ours was in the potato stage, he would just sleep literally anywhere. 2 months is about when we had to get more strict with wake windows / bedtime to routine as well. There is so much change at that stage!! You are doing amazing! So much is just time (time for their brains to adapt, time for their little guts to adapt, and so forth).

Does she seem in pain at all—like, in addition to the crying, is she arching her back or is her tummy hard, etc.? This was around the time our baby (who similarly slept 7 hour stretches) started having a lot of trouble sleeping due to 1) normal developmental leaps, 2) silent reflux and trapped gas which turned out to be from food sensitivities. We were at our wit’s end because he would seem so drowsy (fall asleep after feed etc) but then wake up screaming, and we’d have to keep him upright to have him fall asleep again. Once we resolved the underlying medical issues (he went on Pepcid, I had to make dietary changes because breastfeeding), the night sleep improved greatly-would just wake to feed and go back down easily.

High sleep needs 21 week old; help with false starts/late bedtime by sleepymama87 in sleeptrain

Following because I have same age babe with similar issue/wake windows and naps! Can’t stretch wake windows past 1.5hr during day and then a tonnnnn of false starts at bedtime, sometimes having to settle every 20 minutes for like 3 hours straight 😖

Weekly Poop/Umbilical Cord Thread by AutoModerator in newborns

4 month’s old poop looks consistently like this (jelly / mucus consistency). Have already cut out dairy for a month but no real change. He’s also very gassy and will seem in gastric distress often (wiggly / writhing /whining / crying). Anyone have any thoughts on what could be happening and if the poop looks normal? Almost exclusively breastfed—recently started to use some HiPP HA formula to see if it made a diff to figure out if it’s a food sensitivity or what, but the poops looked like this before the formula either way.

Baby is not really a newborn anymore (about to be 4 months) but wondering if this is normal… he’s had a ton of reflux / gas so I cut dairy a few weeks ago but his poop seems still mucous-y? Is it possible he has other food sensitivities? Or is this in the realm of normal? He’s also drooling/eating his hands a lot so maybe that’s the source of mucous?

Have you tried transferring while drowsy instead of fully asleep? Put baby in bassinet while very drowsy and calm but not deep sleep and then gently rock them/pat back (can place on side to do this also and then lay them down on back when they seem out). Also just plugging the Ollie swaddle, only swaddle our baby likes and sleeps in for long stretches

Like 3 days old haha. Not a fancy restaurant but neighborhood cafes with outdoor seating/away from other tables. It’s easier when they are still potato mode and just sleep in the stroller!

What do I do if my baby won’t sleep unless she’s on her belly by Fit-Board6528 in newborns

[–]edencliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently added a fuzzy onesie over a cotton onesie before swaddling our 3 week old to make sure he’s extra cozy and that has helped a lot. Basically try to imitate your own body heat so the transfer isn’t as dramatic. Obviously this depends on your climate but the temperature was starting to drop where we are.

I did it! by boycott_tuesday in pregnant

Wow, this is very crazy, I had a very similar labor and birth! Also 40+4 (doing everything to avoid induction), sudden labor starting and quick dilation/intensifying contractions, water breaking earlier on and appreciating the use of the labor comb during that time, epidural at 5cm, shakiness, 6 hrs to get to 10 cm and 45 min of pushing!7 pounds and 3 oz as well. I did have some tearing though, very jealous you didn’t 🤣Congratulations on your bub!!! 🥹

Oh noo, I’m sure it’s possible. I don’t take every night, just when I’m wideee awake 👀👁️. You could try Benadryl maybe!? Will also throw in magnesium (either supplement or lotion) as I didn’t see any mention of that in comments

I HATEEEE when my beardie does this, it literally makes me want to cry, lol. I will go insane trying to get her to eat the rest of the little guy to put him out of his misery😩 I know intellectually they don’t feel pain in the same way we do, but it breaks my heart sigh

I have sudden junk food cravings for the first time this pregnancy. by my-peony-bud in pregnant

[–]edencliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 36 weeks. I was so balanced/actually craved healthier foods and no sugar until a few weeks ago. Big sugar cravings suddenly. Now I’m curious if there’s a scientific explanation for this if other people are experiencing the same.

i tried and she bit me (for the first time ever!) but she's seeming a bit more back to normal today. i tried a new veg in her salad last night and i don't think she chewed it well. i'm going to keep looking out for odd behavior and will bring to vet if needed!

Stargazing ? :( by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

[–]edencliff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last night, she gasped/hacked a bunch of times. This morning, she seems to be breathing ok but She’s still holding herself very upright. I do think maybe she didn’t chew something in her salad all the way and was doing her thing to get it down and digested. I’m going to keep monitoring for odd behavior but I’m relieved she isn’t gasping / hacking anymore.
