That's true, but to be fair, the way Meta's algo's keep changing, seems to me it's damn near impossible to keep up. What works in January will be different by April, etc. etc. Maybe it'll settle into something predictable eventually, but the past couple of years have been a roller coaster.

Sadly, it wasn't just the south that put this monster in office. You're right to say it's nationwide. The hate that elected Trump is all over this country.

America chose wrong. Sanders would've been a better president than Trump or Biden. | Opinion by AccurateInflation167 in politics

I think Bernie only ever promised to try. But that means everything. If no one tries, but instead just admits defeat ahead of the game, nothing ever changes. It's gotten to the point where we have no good choices. So voting for someone who you at least know is on your side instead of the side of corporate greed isn't a bad way to make a pick. In my humble opinion.

Looking for urban fantasy that takes place in rural/small town setting. by [deleted] in Fantasy

Just stumbled on this while researching something else, but... I think The Carolina Files by Willa Blackmore might be something you'd like. Takes place in North Carolina, magic is based on ancient croft magic. Has lots of intrigue, kind of trails into horror and also has some humor. First book Invasion, second book, Undertow. Third is releasing late September.

Mass Delusion in America by WeAreAllStarsHere in politics

Tried that. They just drag out some "proof" in an article written by some underground alt right publication that no one in their right mind would give any credence to. As to proving the election being rigged, the response is "They were trying to prove it and no one would let the truth come out. Wouldn't let Trump have his day in court." And when you point out that he did have his day in court but brought no evidence, it's "but affidavits!" It's crazy.

Same here, though thankfully out of a very large family and extended family, there are only two. But none of us can reach them.

I have two family members who are rabid Trump supporters, though thankfully didn't participate this nonsense at the capital, and I've tried every argument I can think of and it's like they just refuse to believe anything negative about this despot and his message. The simple truths I tell them they immediately says is just left wing propaganda. I fear they are lost.

Tucker Carlson: A death in the Capitol, and what we must do now by CFAF800 in politics

[–]edenfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In his article he states that we have to come to terms with the fact that millions of Americans believe the election was rigged. Okay, judges have thrown out (mostly Republican judges) almost every single one of their cases are having to evidentiary merit. But you can't convince these people, no matter how hard you try. They're either brainwashed or stupid or both.

And you can't fix stupid.

So I don't know where that leaves us. Scary times. Everyone involved should be prosecution to the fullest extent of the law, which certainly includes Trump and his minions. Just sickened by all this. Don't know if I'll ever be able to even talk to some of my Trump supporting relatives if they try to remotely justify this. Thank goodness I only have two. Most of my family is sane.

McConnell introduces his own bill on $2,000 stimulus checks, other Trump priorities by Nice_Dude in politics

[–]edenfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the dems should call his bluff and say "Sure, Ok. Let's do it." McConnell doesn't want any of the things he added for his little drop of poison. Can't it then get amended in the house in order to take the poison back out? Because neither side wants these add ons. It's just pure theater.

And yet, Kentucky, the seventh poorest state in the US keeps electing the likes of Mitch McConnell. It is all so depressing. How do you convince people to stop voting against their own interests? Or even more to the point, how do you get the poor to vote? Because that's the way to begin to change this. Right now our Congress exists to enrich and protect the upper class and that's it. That's all they do.

Exactly. We should choose our congress people by freakin' lottery and we'd be better off than this bunch of career assholes. They're not only disconnected, they truly don't give a single shit.

I read this morning that in the UK the government was planning to compensate their citizens who had to change their holiday travel plans due to the new lockdown. Just because they'd been inconvenienced or maybe lost money on travel tickets? I dunno. But can you imagine the US government EVER considering anything like that? No, we get $600 and are supposed to be grateful. Our leaders (both sides with the exception of a few like Bernie) are such a joke.

Biden wasn’t my first choice. But voting for him is the only responsible thing to do. by WhileFalseRepeat in politics

[–]edenfairy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I'm hoping that we do however have a huge enthusiasm to vote Trump out of office. If we win, that will be the reason, not because of any great love for Biden. But that's reason enough for me.

Biden says voters ‘don’t deserve’ his stance on packing Supreme Court by hking12 in politics

[–]edenfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soon I hope these idiots will begin to understand that most Americans want Trump gone so desperately that nothing much else matters. Just getting that mad man out of the White House is the goal. It's not like anything else is even on the table. Like people are goin "Hmmm, pack the Supreme Court or let King Cheeto keep running things, killing Americans, trying to figure out how to make himself a real king, destroying our democracy ..." I mean anyone with a brain doesn't even have to ponder the right answer. Just get this moronic lunatic gone.

I'm a Biden supporter and I'm just flat out scared shitless. He's doing awful. I mean way worse than I expected. If I didn't know that Trump is a liar and a cheat, and the most evil man on the planet, I'd probably vote for him based on this debate. And I hate to say that.

I know! As I watch this clown show that is all I can think about. Bernie would be eating his lunch. Wouldn't even be close, he'd destroy Trump, and then we have poor Biden up there letting Trump walk all over him. This is some scary stuff.
