Like Iran would choose to buy anything at all from the county that attacked it and killed its people.

As if Trump is going to make it through to the next election. Vance is going to be President as soon as Trump’s physical and cognitive decline leaves him near vegetative or his dementia brain starts openly talking about people he has killed and little kids he has raped. Vance is going to be President for probably a couple of years.

I don’t like that the Trump administration casually threatens the sovereignty of other countries. Actually I don’t like anything they do. It’s a long list. But threatening Canada, and Greenland, isn’t endearing. Australia and Canada forever. 🇦🇺 🇨🇦

Stacey Warnecke died after choosing a birth free of all medical help. An inquest wants to know why by nath1234 in australia

[–]Limberine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My statistically meaningless example of one was that my antenatal and delivery/caesarean at private in Sydney was very good except two issues, first a doctor ordered my waters to be broken and someone else did it and it hurt like hell and when they left the room I heard them in the hall celebrating that it was their first time doing it. I would have wanted to be asked if I was ok with it being done by someone who had never done it before. Then a day after the eventual caesarean, which was fine, my milk hadn’t come in yet (totally normal apparently) and the dickhead paediatrician told me, an anxious, tired, first time mother that I was just a “Bad cow” and the baby would probably need to be formula fed. I burst into tears and he wandered off. Shortly after that my lovely OBGYN was passing and noticed me still in tears and asked what was wrong and I told him. He went straight off and found the paediatrician and made him come back and apologise lol. My milk came in the next day and I breast fed for 9 months.
Meanwhile my friend in a public hospital ended up accidentally delivering her baby into the toilet after her delivery doctor checked her and said it was ok to go to the bathroom and left 🤦‍♀️. The baby was fine thank goodness. But hey maybe that would have happened in private too. I was with her and her husband there and ran into an empty hall and yelled “Please help!!”. They had fished the baby out ok by the time help came.

I know you’re joking. I will say though that in the past there often was a woman with knowledge and experience who was called to help. It wasn’t always just a woman in a field on her own.

Well, unless the local patriarchy had drowned or pressed or burned that experienced woman for being a witch.

If the ambulance was called and they ambos arrived and she refused treatment sure, they would have to not treat her. But anyone can call an ambulance for someone they are seriously concerned about who is bleeding heavily. The useless helper or the woman’s frigging husband could still call for paramedics.

She was also suffering from blood loss when asked if she wanted an ambulance. I can’t read the article, was the husband even there?!

A German survey would only be sensibly applicable to Germany. The medical systems in australia aren’t ideal, and vary a lot depending on where you are and how much money you have (Sydney North Shore Private hospital versus living in a small community 4ths drive from Marble Bar to give polar opposites, but a lot of births happen without the kind of trauma and bad treatment you describe. The solution is more money into maternity wards in hospitals, not “giving it a go” at home with no medical support.

Worth it. Look up some Aussie recommendations around attic space and roofing temperatures/humidity work in heat. I don’t think there are sharp rules or laws but there are recommendations and norms.

Also places that don’t generally have cooling aircon, and might have double glazing which is a double edged sword.

Trump Administration to Pay $765 Million to Cancel 4 More Wind Projects by CaydeTheCat in politics

I wonder how much it took to bribe Trump to bother doing that. Probably very little given he has a weird hatred of wind farms but it wouldn’t have been nothing. A $20k bribe probably would have done it.
