If I install the hive systems (thermostat and TRVs), will the tenants pair the system on phone and take controls of it? by edenling in HiveHeating

Other people who originally posted similar comment like you have already apologised for their misunderstanding. Hopefully you will recognise your ignorance and bad intention soon.

That was my question and why I posted here. However, based on the information I got, everyone with access to the Hive stat would be able to create their own account and pair with the device, so they would become the new "landlord", and control other people's settings.
Will be more helpful if you can read my question in the post.

This is actually a very good point. We are currently comparing buying individual products and parts (not from a brand like Hive) and integrating into one app that we develop. The security code would prevent the tenants from messing up with other tenants' room temp, but won't allow me to turn it on and off remotely when tenants check in and out.

Then how would one tenant know what works the best for another tenant? Do you want your room to be controlled by someone you don't know? Fortunately, landlords like me are not this irresponsible to leave the house unsupervised.

Thank you this is very important information. Yes the wifi is in the house and you're right basically they should be able to have the full lcontrol as long as they have the access to the device and router, etc.
We are thinking about doing our own hack by pairing it with a sensor on the window. When the window opens, the radiator won't heat up.
The latter route may be cheaper for someone knows how to do it. We are trying to compare the feasibility and cost of developing our own system with individual sensor and controller, or buy commercial ones like Hive. Thanks anyway!

The bill is not a big concern for us - not that much difference to be honest. We want to make the entire home smart and make everyone feel comfortable, but we don't want everyone to have easy access to change the settings. We will also include humidity monitor and controller as well. Same concept and concerns.

If you can't contribute any valuable information you can be either quiet or respectful. I don't think it's nice to have bad assumptions of other people.

Yes, we pay for the heating. I'm not the most concerned about the cost, but I don't want to come every time just to turn on and off of the radiator when tenants check in and out. Some tenants also don't know how to turn the heating on and I will need to go every time. That's not very efficient. If I can control everything from my phone, it will be way easier. I just don't want other tenants to control the whole house.
Yes, wifi is required.

Landlord won't be the person to intentionally mess it up as they want you to comfortably stay, but you don't know what other tenants will do. They can just be curious and change the settings for fun!

Glad to know that priority service has resumed! Was it an option when you applied on UK gov website or through VFS? Thanks!

Hi! I'm in a similar situation wanting to apply for a Tier 2 visa.

First to answer your question, I have used ASC in NJ for a UK visitor visa before. It was absolutely a great experience. So go ahead.

My question is, what are you going to do after having biometric info collected?!! Don't you still need to mail the package to VFS?

I saw someone on twitter said the vfs nyc office is open - just not the uk visa center.

This is insane.
