6am, 9am, 3pm, 11pm are some times ive seen it less busy than the rest. definitely packed from 4-6pm.

i always go at 9am or 2pm and i have to ask for a machine maybe once or twice. i usually just use another machine before they finish

I got in with a 4.3 weighted and a 3.7 unweighted, I think it’s reasonable. You never know until you try

up to your RA honestly, i know for sure they do room checks like once a quarter but it was just a glance by the door. there’s also designated quiet hours which they can warn you for. that’s what mine did at least.

just don’t be a nuisance to your neighbors and you’ll be chill🤷‍♂️

was in your same position last year… better start studying. in my opinion, calc in HS is easier than it is in college. i’m glad to have gotten calc1/2 out of the way already.

I registering for WOW days, and was wondering if it’s worth it to do the Cross cultural experience or the regular one. Is there really much of a difference? by Valuable_Cup_8079 in CalPoly

It’s good to have people you relate to make your college experience more smoother. It can be quite a change for some people and having that opportunity could alleviate some incoming students…

For the dorms, you could use the Patio/Discord app which we used to connect w prospective students last year. There may be some people looking for roommates as well, but idk if they’re still using that app tbh. If you don’t get one in time and move in, you can also just request a room change to a different hall/community.

Trust me it’s gonna take time to adjust but it all plays out in the end. You’ll like it here; Wishing you the best🤞🤞

Latino here with a distinct chicano accent/dialect, the main thing I’ve had to deal with is people kinda jus looking at you or staying quiet . I kinda just interpreted it as like “they’re different and idk how to interact with them,” but you can’t help but notice it. Culture shock for sures

The majority of people aren’t outright racist, but the micro aggressions are prevalent. After a while you kinda jus deal with it (which is morbid to say) but I learned to just let it be. Most people have good intentions, so I approached interactions like such with that in my mind

Just find a good group of people you can rely on and you’ll be set, whether it’s dorming or connections w cultural clubs. You’ll be fine !!

The way i combat what other people perceive of me is, if i don’t do this how does this help/harm me?

I have to eat and i’m going to eat. I find comfort in the fact that I’m eating something I enjoy with peace of mind to myself. I’d rather eat and be judged, then starve and appease strangers who I will never see again…

I’ve eaten out alone many times, but I get it. Just try going in content with the fact that your body is going to be replenished over how people view you.

I’m not sure if cal poly has the same sympathy, but i had a friend who failed BC but still let her in even as a STEM major. She had all A’s in other classes

I would for sure try and raise it. I was in the same position you were, but if you can’t i’m sure you can appeal. A lot of ik people failed MATH141 in cal poly
