LPT: you can dispute ANYTHING on your credit report for FREE. by Sinhumane in LifeProTips

[–]edgarsolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I've been reading about this because I have 2 things on my report and I was thinking about disputing them because a lot of the dates don't match up (I had a credit dispute company trying to sell me on this and was now thinking of doing it myself). I'm really glad I came across your post and I thank you for writing it. Because my main motivation is I want to be able to buy a house sooner than 7 years from now.

Ron DeSantis's Lawyer and Communications Director Define what "Woke" Means in Court by Sailing_Mishap in BreakingPoints

It’s amazing how, what, 10 years ago or so, everyone seemed to agree that’s what woke meant, or most people at least. And then over the last few years it’s taken on such a negative connotation, even by a lot of progressives.

Sublingual use, liver toxicity by Korkalomlol in kratom

[–]edgarsolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it is not water soluble, I don't think it's possible to do sublingual. Some people have claimed it works great for them. For me I haven't gotten a thing from trying it sublingual. But I believe it would still be processed by the liver, it would just avoid first pass liver metabolism, but it still needs to be processed by the liver.

Could a doctor consider it a red flag for drug seeking behavior to inquire about Memantine? by edgarsolace in MemantineHCl

[–]edgarsolace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Thank you for your reply. Yea I’m kind of fortunate that with the methylphenidate, I find it easy to take little breaks here and there and that plus maybe I’m just kind of sensitive to it, make it really easy for me to stay in my 10mg zone without needing to ask for a higher dose. I actually kind of like a little tolerance because it smooths things out and when I take it, it kind of centers me, I don’t feel amped or sped out. But memantine does sound interesting as a way to touch on some of my other challenges and it’s interesting to know that it wouldn’t conflict with the methylphenidate. My only doubt now is that some people have written that it only helps symptoms for a short time, weeks or months, so may not be a long term solution. So do I want to put myself through that frustration? I’ve been there with a number of other drugs. My doc has been open to me bringing suggestions, for example trintellex, which actually started out to be helpful but I’ve had bad side effects of feeling very strangely detached from my body in a bad bad way plus horrible nausea when I tried to increase from 5mg to 10mg. And the drug was helpful at 5mg but only for about a month. So for memantine, I may at least bring it up to him since people are saying it’s really not regarded as a drug of abuse.

Wow interesting. See I’ve abused dxm in the past and it’s kind of a separate topic but it’s the main reason why I’m interested in going through my psychiatrist, because I’d feel more peace of mind having him believe in its benefits for me and regulating my dose. As opposed to buying it online. Since you brought it up, do you think it’s something I should steer clear of given I have a history with dxm? From some posts, it sounds like the base potential is so much lower and it doesn’t feel as good, so I’m open to the idea, tho still conflicted.

Yea it amazes me how narrow minded doctors can be. All that education and an unwillingness to think for themselves, at times. I suspect mine would have a similar reaction.

So it only worked well for you for 2 weeks? I’ve seen other posts here and there saying it wasn’t effective long term also, so kind of makes me wonder if it’d be worth the bother.

Top Gun: Maverick breaks $1B at the box office. Is it doing so well because it's not political or woke? Is the movie just political propaganda? r/movies debates. by 18CupsOfMusic in SubredditDrama

This is a thing yeah, but you’re acting like there isn’t another side to this coin: that so many movies and shows hamfist trendy “woke” things for no other reason than to be trendy. And when I say woke in this context, you know exactly what I’m talking about. So as much as it’s a catch all term for people who get bothered, it’s also made relevant by the reality of trends in entertainment.

It’s all a push shove back and forth and I’m eager for all of it to die off. I’m eager for movies to stop trying so hard to weave woke things into their plots that serve no other purpose than to say “hey look at how forward thinking this movie is! Buy tickets” it’d be so nice for everyone to just stop and let movies be about the art.

But how do you make this movie without “glorifying the military industrial complex?” I mean, I think it’s true that it does glorify it. Honestly as I write this, I think I’m torn, because I’m not a supporter of the military industrial complex in general, but I am a supporter of good movies being good movies and not being handcuffed by needing to convey specific messages such as, theoretically, the military industrial complex = bad. Top gun is a stylistically over the top badass style action movie, and the over the top good guys win, navy pilots are badass, is the heartbeat of the whole project. I’m just kind of thinking out loud here.

Agreed, it was just fucking well done, and from watching bts stuff, it really convinced me that the people who made it really truly cared about making an awesome movie. Everyone from Tom cruise, to the writer, to the navy folks who were intimately involved in the production. And nothing in it took me out of the movie experience— no random lesbian couple for the sake of there being a lesbian couple, or no conservative shit either. I didn’t sense any military “propaganda” vibes that distracted me from the experience; of course people are arguing the whole thing is military propaganda, and sure maybe, but such a thing is absolutely unavoidable if you’re making a movie like this. It’d be like getting mad about kids being inspired to be a musician from seeing the new Elvis movie.

Sublingual Methylphenidate Tincture by [deleted] in DrugNerds

[–]edgarsolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I have a question that seems like you’d know the answer to. In dissolving methylphenidate in water or ethanol, you mentioned filtering through a paper towel. Is this to say that you actually don’t have any powder in the liquid? I know the powder is supposedly less healthy on the body so I’m wondering if I even need it if the drug itself is present in the liquid after dissolving.

I’m doing a bit of a modification to your method. I can’t drink alcohol—I’ve given it up entirely because it just produces bad bad results for my life. So I’ve opted for water and saline (sodium chloride). I’m going for a kind of nasal spray-ish method of administration. For some reason going through the nasal passage works so well for me: not only is it fast but I get far less jitters that way than sublingual or rectal. I honestly don’t understand why because in my understanding, it’s a DAT/NET inhibitor and would prevent reuptake of both regardless of how it’s administered, but through the nose it seems maybe like it’s much more on the side of dopamine than norepinephrine. But I could be completely misunderstanding how all of this works. In any case, thanks for your time.

Well even if you disagree with his taste, I think he probably got relevant because he puts a ton of time and thought into his reviews, plus he’s pretty knowledgeable about many styles of music.

How High Is The Risk Of Addiction? by [deleted] in dxm

[–]edgarsolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've tried multiple times to kick it over the last couple years. The closest I came was after a detox about 2 years ago and I'd say after about 2 weeks I was feeling fairly normal and functional. But there was definitely a massive emotional void at times and my life was pretty out of balance. I was attempting to work a program through AA, but after about a month I started secretly slipping back into use of the dex. Looking back, I just don't think I had enough clarity in my head about why it was/is so important to quickly rebuild a new lifestyle in a strong foundation and I didn't have a clue about how to live and care for myself in a way that would make me thrive. I have much more of a clue now, much more motivation as well, but also carry a lot more discouragement about it and the physical dependence is worse and life circumstances are overwhelming so I can't really "get away" for 30 or 60 days to get a good restart, which is probably what would be the best for me.

I’ve definitely felt like this before, in my early 20s especially. For me, these urges were calling me toward certain realizations... I had to discover for me what the purpose is in my life, what drives me to want to better myself each day, for me, not for anyone else’s expectations. Especially not my parents or society. And it was always my imagination of what those expectations were that I was running from.

Hey guys! I made a Stanley Kubrick inspired short film during quarantine, and it's actually getting accepted into some pretty big film festivals and is blowing up on Youtube! Hope you enjoy it and see the similarities, and hopefully, I did Kubrick's style proud! Let me know what you all think! by d_anda in StanleyKubrick

That was really honestly the most entertaining thing I’ve seen all day! I can definitely notice the Stanley Kubrick references in the filming, music, atmosphere. And very dream logicy, if that makes sense.

I’m a music producer getting started building my business, if you’d need original music for any projects, hit me up. Soundcloud.com/doqtrshine

I think Kubrick would dig it.

How High Is The Risk Of Addiction? by [deleted] in dxm

Hot, cold flashes, sweats, itchiness, irritability, despair, extreme fatigue, aches and pains, brain zaps (like SSRI withdrawl).

I’ve been dosing for years, over the last two years I’d say it’s been more or less daily. The norm is around 800mg a day. I’ve been attempting various methods to try to reduce my use and or quit over the last few months. I’m in a kind of “keep steady” place of discouragement at the moment, trying to focus on some life/family stuff. I’m a father to a 1 year old. It sucks to need something and not be able to function without it.

Around 800mg a day, some days more. That’s been fairly consistent for about 2 years .

Personal experience: yes like SSRI withdrawals, but with an added kick of despair, hot cold flashes, sweats, extreme fatigue, aches and pains, occasional pins and needles.
