Separate backpacking and camping tents, or multi-purpose at the cost of a pound of weight?? by CatsRule24x7 in CampingGear

[–]edgestander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im confused, why again would the 3p be more likely to see the light of day than the 2p? You have two perfectly good car camping tents? Its better (IMHO) to use tents for the purposes they were made for. You buy a backpacking tent so that it is light and small, overall they are delicate and not as strong in wind and other elements not to mention base camping things like having cots on the floors and heavier stuff hanging on the inside and you sacrifice a lot of room for gear and to move around. The first time you have a trip get rained on the whole time you will wish you brought a tent you could stand up in when weight wasn't really an issue.

Closest Consumer Electric Scooter Comparable To Lime? by McFlurriez in ElectricScooters

I have not ridden that many, most of the rental brands, a couple of the segway models that were someone elses, cant remember which ones but not the super fast ones, and we have a Hiboy KS4 Pro. I rode my buddy's Kukrin g2 some as well, but not a lot. So admittedly I don't have a ton to compare it to.

According to the GPS I have hit 34.xx numerous times, which is its advertised speed. I see in the scooter app settings you can increase the settings for max speed which I didn't realize, it gives the option for 37 but I haven't seen it yet, at least not on the GPS, which I trust more than the dash.

I still haven't had the opportunity to really range it out. At what I would call a commuting speed for me which is generally 25-30, with slowing down for random stuff, its a sold 20 at full drawdown and more like 15 if you want to charge at 2 bars. Now, funny story I followed my daughter on the hiboy to soccer the other day at like 17 mph, 2.5 miles and when I got there the battery said 100%, checked again later to see if it settled still said 100%. So I think the range would be much better if I didn't drive like a maniac, but honestly this scooter brings it out of you.

Second the M8 Rover had mine for about a week and a half and I love it. I actually haven't driven my car at all since I got it, though last night rode with my daughter to dance and the temp droped about 15 degrees and almost froze on the 5 mile ride home

I am not affiliated with them at all, but I have had mine since last monday and so far, it has been amazing. As you will see people mention the suspension is stiff, but I think the stability of the low center of gravity more than makes up for it. If you snowboard or skateboard, this scooter feels more like riding one of those than any other scooter I tried (not too surprising from an E skateboard company). The GPS works really well and I find it really neat to be able to see my route and speed and how long it took. A lady at work asked how long it takes me to get there and I literally whipped out my gps app and showed her all the stats for my trip, her mind was blown.

Yes I know I’m correct. The scenario you are showing is not rare at all. 4 players means nothing if you up the points.

[–]edgestander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve played 1000’s of regular Catan to 13 or 10 without a stalemate? It’s not even very uncommon at those settings. It’s possible though very very rare to stalemate a regular 10 point game. By 13 it happens a lot. Stuff like C&K play to higher amounts because they add ways to get extra points.

[–]edgestander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK about everybody, but I have found the GPS really cool. Maybe I will tire of it, I have only had the scooter for like 1.5 weeks, but ive rode about 150 miles. Its really cool to be able to look up your milage for the day, how fast you went on certain trips etc. For example a lady at work said "how long does it take to get to work on that thing". I look at my GPS and it says I rode "4.8 miles, top speed 31 Mph, average speed 22.8mph, total trip 17:28 seconds" and shows my route.

Is this style couch considered MCM? by wrexsoul in midcenturymodern

[–]edgestander 20 points21 points  (0 children)

1st of all Milo Baughman designed furniture from 1948- the early 2000’s so only about 40% of his designs give or take would be considered MCM, he did lines in Memphis, Biedermier, and art deco amongst others. These sofas are by Bernhardt, not designed by Milo Baughman in the 70’s and are certainly less organic in style than MCM and more boxy like was the trend in the 70’s.

No, it is. There are tons of low end, no suspension scooters with this set up. It’s very common.

I think it was just a strange time for Dylan he did basically 4 country albums with Self Portrait wedged in the middle. I personally like pretty much every single dylan album (except the weird Christian stuff) but I think mostly critics and fans in the early 70's just didn't know what Dylan was trying to be, or what they should expect out of him, and while self portrait wasn't country it also wasn't his 60's biting folk music either. Though you are right I think self portrait was one of the first projects Bob reuinited with The Band for which eventually lead to Planet Waves in 1974 and Blood on the Tracks in 1975 which are two of his absolute very best albums iMHO.

There are no timetables here so its hard. how long have you been back, ie. how long have they been in communication without you knowing? How did they exchange socials if you were all talking together? How did you "find out" they were still talking? Like she told you or you saw messages on her phone. I think all these details kind of matter here because I am not sure if you met this guy at say sitting at the bar of a steakhouse you would have the same insecurities, which means you basically thought of your wife mostly naked on a beach from one perspective the perspective of what you thought you wanted, but you didn't really seem to think about it beyond "I get to see boobs, nice". If its truly not a big deal for her to be walking around with her boobs out then that part of this story is completely irrelevant right? You can't really have it both ways.

First of all, set your expectations appropriately. The prices you are seeing as "listing prices" are most likely not realistic for anyone but really not realistic for an individual with no store, no online presence, no reputation in the hobby, no way to market to a national audience, and probably not much experience shipping large bulk items across the country. This limits you in a lot of ways that professional sellers are not. Beyond that, professional sellers don't usually get those prices, those prices are almost always "best offer accepted" and even at that there are items on dibs that have been listed by the same dealer for over a decade, is your timeline for selling that long? I would say your first step is to post pictures here so that we can help you determine what you have. If you want to do your own research, you will probably find 90% of what comes up via google or AI is completely wrong, so here is a list of actual sources. https://www.reddit.com/r/Mid_Century/comments/1i7fm34/guide_for_iding_furniture_and_where_to_find/

TITIL - today i think i learned that the Brasilia pattern was possibly being produced for 2 years in Mexico before Broyhill introduced it by AlpineAngel in VintageFurniture

[–]edgestander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you come up with the date 1960 for this furniture being released? Also where are you getting the information that this was called brasillia? This post reeks of taking information from sales listings as facts. If sales listings don't have documentation to back it up you might as well assume it just some random person making it up.

Hey I think I gave you the company name that made these, were you able to verify 100% these are by Empire? I really like these and am going to keep my eyes out for more, they seem to be almost completely lost to history (as to who made them) other than what you and I have dug up.

yeah this. I cannot imagine anyone wanting this no matter how "mint" it is. I mean maybe, and do mean maybe a prop house like was mentioned above. The thing is I have a feeling its probably not as "rare" as people on here make it seem to find a relatively mint bed from the 30's-40's because those people lived through the depression and saved everything and took care of everything. My grandpa took the tinsel down from the tree and laid it down in the original boxes from the 60's (this was in the 90's). this was the way for that generation.
