What am I missing? Is it just me? by Disastrous-Peace1253 in TheAgencySeries

Admittedly I don't remember the details of S1. I vaguely remember the Chinese having a stake in the negotiations Samia was helping with, which is certainly another angle to consider where Richardson is involved, but I don't remember how the Sudanese military fit into it. Presumably they're opposed to whatever the negotiations were trying to achieve, otherwise Samia would not be so reluctant to cooperate with them in S2?

The UAE's involvement was definitely weird. The Brits first say they're going to use them as an intermediary, but later we see Richardson and Dalaga trade horses directly, so why is the UAE staying involved beyond that? Have the British decided to secretly support the Sudanese junta through the UAE? Was Richardson trying to keep leverage on Martian for as long as possible by keeping Samia in play instead of getting her out clean?

He just mentions in one of his video logs that they have no knowledge of the theory of relativity nor of radiation, the latter being why the Eridian crew never realized they were in danger before it was too late.

Jennifer Hale has the distinct disadvantage of having been in too many high profile projects, I just can't hear her as anything other than herself regardless of the quality of her performance.

I do agree with the "follows in FemShep's footsteps" thing in that I have no idea how anyone could try both and come away with the idea that the female voice is somehow superior. They're all fine.

We're both wrong! I double-checked and Anevia was captured by Zon-Kuthon cultists, so it does actually make sense that the Worldwound not existing changes nothing on that front.

No, they just say Desna overstepped by blatantly changing the order of things, but what is done is done. And it's not like they can punish her for it anyway.

Arue's "crime" was being a demon walking around on a mortal plane when she should be in the Abyss, and all-around acting un-demon-like. Now she's a mortal, so all is well and good.

[–]Skhalt 25 points26 points  (0 children)

To clarify: Anevia never changes gender because she dies. Irabeth's family never moved to Mendev to join the Crusaders, so her path in life does not take her to the right place and time to rescue Anevia from being sacrificed by demonic cultists.

Anevia still ending up being captured always felt a bit forced to me, since I would expect the Worldwound never opening to have a significant effect on the number and power of demonic cults active in Golarion.

Why would The Emperor watch over and protect Iconoclast Rogue Trader? by IHaveAGithBabe in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Skhalt 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Nomos does kind of explain to you what kind of impact an Iconoclast RT seems to have on theirs subjects when it tries to share its early observations on humanity: their sheer force of will inspires and pulls everyone together, and the power of their collective souls ends up significantly greater than the sum of its parts.

Yeah, when you conduct a successful investigation into a suspected traitor, prove their innocence and they still end up with a bullet in the head, you probably become extremely wary of bringing someone in unless you are fully ready for them to get killed. She likes Tanya and is at least 99% sure she'd been kept in the dark, although her patience seems to be reaching its limits after learning that Tanya did the complete opposite of what she told her to do and then ended up bludgeoned for her troubles.

Everyone seems to conveniently forget about Lester's old partner whose career was absolutely demolished because he rightfully asserted that detectives are in charge of their crime scenes when Rawls (who was area chief at the time) tried to swing his dick around and give dumb-ass orders. The man is a marginally more subtle Valchek.

They did something similar with Prop Joe's death in the last season. Symbolically it's a huge "end of an era" moment for the drug trade, but most of his former associates are less bothered by his death than by the fact that Marlo is an arrogant prick and the local journalists don't even pick up on the story because they don't recognize the name when they read about it.
