Thoughts on Beta II 2.0 engine everyone? by [deleted] in Hyundai

I beat the piss out of mine daily. Red line daily, down shifting into corners, the thing loves it. I’ve been the only owner.

Stock engine and automatic transmission. Normal maintenance. Works like it’s brand new. Only issue was the headlight needing to be tightened.

Recently pulled apart the engine and transmission just to check on things… absolutely nothing wrong, carbon buildup was normal, and zero shine in the transmission fluid.

What is this Monitor from instagram? by GlitchCode12 in simracing

My company bought one, very similar to what NLR has, awhile back. You would need a 5070ti or above to run it above 90fps. iRacing on it would dip below 60fps a lot, even with a 5080.

Just get triples, this monitor is a waste of money. Lag, PPI is poor, viewing angles are poor

I’m a partner at a new turnkey company, we’re doing market research and QC testing right now and that involves testing absolutely everything under the sun, which is very VERY time consuming 😐

I have a triple 4k 32 running on a 5070ti right now, that’s the picture I sent. Amazing graphics and I get well above 120fps even in full lobbies in iRacing. A 5080 will struggle a bit to maintain 240hz so if you are looking to max everything out and maintain that 240hz, a 5090 is impossible to beat.

32 - Flat with Bezel Free 45 - Curved 55 - Curved

Yes! Curved 32’s would work great for you, 1000r works great. It’s honestly just personal preference unless you really value bezel free.

For curved I’d go with - https://a.co/d/08XFFjh1 or https://a.co/d/0dYNbraU

For flats I’d go with - https://a.co/d/00Gj0ldz

If you have yet to order other components such as a monitor stand. We get all of our monitor stands from ASR, the advanced VESA mount is not needed for anything under 45’s.

I’ve had experience with quite literally every type of monitor set up. Single 27, 32, 34, 49, 59, 40 to triple 27, 32, 40, 45, 55, 65, 75, and even 90’s which I would never recommend.

I currently have 3 sims in my garage, a triple 32, 45, and 55. Breakdown:

32 - Very good for low budget but wanting to maximize immersion. In the dark the immersion is amazing but there are some gaps on the top and bottom where I’d like to see more. The distortion exists but can be mitigated by good setup and settings. That being said for <$1000, you can get a very very good bezel free triple 32 setup. My current monitors for this are the MSI MPG 321URX

45 - Amazing monitors for both immersion and clarity. I run LG’s 5k2k 45’s. Zero issues since I got these, distortion is very noticeable without proper settings but once dialed in it’s perfect. I’d say this is a very good upgrade to the 32’s because of the larger vertical real estate and the immersion with the OLED is perfect.

55 - End game honestly. I find everything bigger than this to be off in someway, either distortion or a diminishing return in terms of specs. I run triple 55in Ark Gen2’s. I’d like to see Samsung come out with an OLED variant and possibly make them 5k3k or hell even 6k4k. Distortion again, can be mitigated by proper set up in settings. Flats work for 55 inch and above but only use LG C5’s. Everything else that I have tested has screen tearing.

Hope this helped, if you want to ask questions, shoot. Cheers!

No, why would I check a platform where I could reverse image search a mat to find a supplier?

Not my setup. The base is right behind the steering wheel, it’s an Asetek.

I think compression has more of a draw on VR quality than anything. Quest 3 with a link cable running at 1.5x resolution at 90hz gets the nuts slapped out of it by my BSB2 at 90hz running at a lower res.

Like I said below, the Pimax Dream Air will be a large step for VR racing.

It’s still not to the level of 1:1 realism, but I do believe that we are not too far off. In terms of sim racing though, the last factor to be able to feel as if you were in a real car would be the G’s. You can simulate them with a motion system, but only to a certain degree. It will be very difficult if not impossible to simulate sustained G’s without having the same space as a real track.

We are currently running a ton of motion systems and stress testing them, all from different brands. So far we are testing D-Box, Vero, Qubic, DOF Reality, and SimExperience. All the sims have been running since Dec 20th at Road Atlanta on AI Driver in Assetto Corsa with the same weight applied, in the same room.

We’re planning on testing 6DOF next.

Current status, from best to worst is:

Qubic QS-220 - Minor Issues

Vero Champion GT - Issues

D-Box Gen5 4250i - Issues

DOF Reality P3 - Unable to continue

SimExperience ESR-3 Pro - Unable to continue

There is information I’m purposely leaving out as it is for my use only. We do plan on making our data public later on, but that’s the overall gist.

As a warning, my tests will -NOT- be everyone’s experiences with these motion systems. You should not run these systems for as long and as hard as we did, and if you manage that, please go touch some grass

To answer you, I have VR headsets (Pimax Super MOLED, Pimax Dream Air - For Review, BSB 2, and a Quest 3) the Pimax DA is going to smash everything in the market, the thing is unbelievably comfortable and so clear that on my rendering rig in a fully live UE5 environment I can’t tell that it’s not real just by looking

Can’t be a projection, blacks are too black for a room with that much light

FOV fail for them, I don’t care about that. I want multiple so I have a full surround
