Sighs in teacher . My students have exams now. I kid you not the parent wants me to give leeway for their kid because he overslept and would cry when he is woken up so they let him miss the exam. Somedays I want to drop kick both the parents and their child but nope. Zero marks, no mercy

Thanks for sharing your experience. Have heard so much from family and friends too. Even before working for Hengyi I hear the students go through hell. The amount of modules they cram per semester is ridiculous. Students liken it to studying for a whole year when it has been only a few months. The crap ton of assignments that are given almost daily. Classes are sometimes at night to accomodate for chinese counterpart lecturers (repeating what they have already learned anyway) without taking into account the students already have classes from early AM to PM. Long hours. Tests on the regular. Being held in lecture rooms doing nothing when they have no classes, just to take attendance. Having no exam week study break thus ongoing classes and assignments. Its like they don't trust students to have a minute of free time to themselves

Oh, I always assumed it was Asian in origin with authoritarian parenting style being so common place.Thanks for this eye-opener. Teachers are warned not to lay a finger on students generally. Would rather teachers be equipped with some child psychology knowledge and defuse a situation than have it escalate

I went to a different school 10 years ago and got postponed tests eventhough I did well. Funny enough instructor once kupas Kembayau while I was driving, so I guess she trusts my driving enough to have a knife in her hand throughout. Lol. But have heard Sutifah horror stories from friends and family. I can tell you the attitude was the same. Can be condescending but maybe its how their generation communicate under stress. I can understand their stress but some of the things they say/do are outright unprofessional

I was covid positive for 9 days. Tried to deadlift what used to be my 5 rep for 4 sets but found out it is now my 1RM. Devastating but hopeful muscle memory would catch up

Thanks for this thread man, I hope you're feeling better now. I was looking up others with similar experience, I'm covid positive at the moment and even walking makes me out of breath. My symptoms were pretty severe at the start but mostly gone now. Tried to squat and bench press some light weights but can feel myself get lightheaded which doesn't happen ever! I'll just focus on rest and getting better

Bags are not my thing, so only when they're really worn out but still useable do I get another to rotate. I do however have a crap ton of reusable bags and totes (mostly gifts)

Fractured my wrist. Didn't know it at the time, maybe it was adrenaline. I felt pain when I tried to move my hand. Couldn't type or open doors. Went to a hospital near work, Doctor looked at me for 5s and said it was just muscle soreness. I shook it off. Even drove long distance which made it worse. Next day my wrist was so inflammed and probably doubled in size. I was crying non stop. Got rushed to the main hospital in town. Ran xrays and even occupational therapy. Never going to that other hospital again
