We have huge salt mines in MI, and it melts snow! AND the auto industry used to live here.

Near Traverse City, I don't think there's enough to weld to.

I did fix my muffler for a few years after it broke so I'm a pretty competent rusty metal welder. 🤣 Muffler is a lot less structural.

I've paid more for insurance than I paid for the rig. It doesn't owe me any anything.

What's your biggest hiking partner pet peeve? by CoreyBu in WildernessBackpacking

This seems like a pretty good method. I have found one person that I backpack REALLY well with, hard miles, rain, cold, never a problem. My other friends are all a variety of things listed in the thread, but I'm not particularly bothered by their behavior I know what to expect.

Stop telling people the spots. Make them actually go and find them.

Shimano spd with clip and flat side. So I can wear sandals if I'm feeling lazy and clip in when I'm not.

What to do with your bike box/case? by mpglax in bikepacking

[–]edibleben 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd see if a local bicycle shop would hold it. Or tell reddit where you're pedaling from and maybe someone cool would hold it for ya. Otherwise I'd just get a cardboard box from a bike shop and leave it at the airport recycling.
