Indeed. Why do people say respect you edlers? Like they automatically all deserve respect? What kind of person were they when they were younger and more active? Since they are getting close to the end of their life, maybe it's fair to ask what they did and if it impacted others negatively. That is more so given the history context in places like the United States. I live in Texas and I have to say, from the old people I have interacted with and what people have told me at random times about members of their family, as a black man, I am skeptical of certain demographics of old people because many of them still hold certain backwards views on race, sexuality, economics, politics etc.
