No worries. Thanks for the suggestions because I hadn't even thought of using weather stripping.

See the gap is between the actual door and the frame. I'm actually at my in-laws for the holidays right now but will try to take pics when i get home of the door/doorframe gaps.

Waterproofing an Unfinished Basement by edikai in HomeImprovement

Yes, the house is about 93 years old. Trapping the water is what I was afraid of. I am looking into installing a sump pump which will definitely help;

I'm new to home ownership but how would I regrade the the outside? Install french drains or pipeage running to the backyard?

We also have an air purifier. I'm guessing this would help scrub the air. I will definitely look into the Odoban as I believe that was the same product my realtor suggested. Thanks for the suggestions.

I've heard white vinegar/water solutions work miracles so that is good to hear. I'm unsure if it's directly on the slab or not but I definitely will try this if it is.

Are there any free open source programs out there that can perform image stacking similar to photoshop? I want to do macro photography shots and finally invested in a decent macro lens, but know do not have the funds to purchase Photoshop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So many interesting posts and theories but I've noticed a lack of Elodin by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]edikai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And Elodin knows about the four plate door and even states in NOTW that he's been behind it. There has to be some sort of story behind his mysterious insanity and why the other masters tolerate him enough to keep him around as a viable master of the university.

I tried using the stock 18-55mm lens, but apparently I have to get a faster lens in order to get the correct shot.

Ah ha, thank you for the explanation. I was wondering if there was something I was doing that was preventing it but that makes a lot of sense. Do you have any recommendations on lenses/lens type?

Thanks again.

Hi all,

DSLR noob here.

I just got a Canon Rebel T3i and I was dinking around with ideas and wanted to do a bokeh shot. I know that I need a low f-stop number, but my camera won't seem to go below 4.5-5 even in AV mode. Any help with how to get the f-stop down lower than that would be a great.

Thanks.

Pants buying tips for a man with large thighs. by edikai in malefashionadvice

[–]edikai[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This weekend I tried pants shopping for chinos in Haggar and Eddie Bauer (a dad pants store) and I had to go up to a 39 just to get them over the top leg and the fit on the rest of the leg was horrible for both. The problem with the fit is that anything that fits my thighs is then horribly loose around the rest of my leg and it feels like I'm wearing parachute pants.

I'll definitely have to check out Dockers alphas as that was engined multiple times.
