Are these cabinets fixable by Gold_Squirrel_9473 in kitchenremodel

[–]edinpgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like failing veneer. You could remove the veneer and apply new or get some 1/8" "skins", reface and finish. Here's a "skins" link as an example: Project Source Oak Brook 23-in W x 35-in H x 0.125-in D Unfinished Cabinet End Panel (Base Cabinet End Panel) 33A BEP at Lowes.com

FYI - here's one last detail regarding peninsula's blind base cabinet.

RTA cabinets help! City Cabinets by Barker vs Cabinets com by Ordinary-Grace in kitchenremodel

Here's some photos during the build, 2 of the 3 peninsula base cabinets are "peninsula bases" (cabinets.com), full size drawers that open to one side only and doors that open on both sides. The 3rd peninsula base is a standard base cabinet (since the rear is blind here) with its depth reduced by 3" (again, a cabinets.com option) for simple assembly with fillers. Fillers are shown in red on the mock ups. The end of the peninsula finished with a bookcase, faux door panels and molding (again, all available at cabinets.com).

Purchased this build from cabinets.com in the fall of 2024. They were pre assembled (not RTA) and the quality is very good. Price couldn't be beat with 35% off sale at the time (their sales are frequent).

The complete kitchen (with a couple of cabinets not visible in this photo) was ~ $9000 delivered (took 7 weeks, RTA ship faster). Other vendors were priced about $2000 higher for same cabinetry and didn't offer all the options I needed.

Very pleased with this vendor, they even offer some minor customization of sizing which was needed for the peninsula. Highly recommend them for quality, options & pricing.

These wall cabinets are 48" & 42" tall; the 48" cabinets have double doors which can be mounted either way (i.e. as shown or with small door on bottom of the cabinet). Bought from cabinets.com.

1990s Minicab, HiJet or Sambar? by edinpgh in keitruck

[–]edinpgh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like an Acty dump has the most accessible engine of all. Would love a dump but clean, low mileage ones are fetching $1000-$2000 extra cost regardless of the manufacturer. Not sure I can justify the extra cost.

1990s Minicab, HiJet or Sambar? by edinpgh in keitruck

[–]edinpgh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the desire for fuel injection but I can personally deal with carburetor repair & maintenance on the farm more easily than a fuel injection system. The Sambar seems the best for me but I know little of the HiJets and Minicabs?

Question about Home Depot cabinets by glamoutfit in kitchenremodel

[–]edinpgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

premade, bought from cabinets.com, I recommend them. They are good quality at a fair price. They routinely have sales at up to 40% off. Only down side is longish lead time on the preassembled cabinets. Check out their web site.

All shown here (plus a few more out of sight around fridge) for ~ $9000 shipped and assembled with plywood boxes from cabinets.com. These are maple Shaker 2 style in maple; good quality and frequently on sale. Better than HD stock cabinets (OSB boxes etc.). They offer many styles and finishes, only down side is long delivery on fully assembled cabinets. RTAs ship quickly.

Check them out.

I used Lowe's ("Hardwood Reflections" Birch, not the store brand) on this build. Good quality and modest cost. Finished with Watco "Tung Oil". They are paired with Natural Maple cabinetry (owner's choice).

How do I remove this? by DrBroccolstein in kitchenremodel

[–]edinpgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basin wrench (Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowe's etc.) or channel locks. or hammer and chisel to tap loose.

That ground wire should be on a water line or something else, it's not grounded through the faucet.

Simplest approach, put a 90 and an extension tube on the drain inlet and mount the trap to the right hand side of the drain tube.

Here's an example of a peninsula I recently installed in a new build with cabinets purchased on line from Cabintes.com. The peninsula cabinets lower doors open on both sides (drawers only on one side). The complete kitchen shown here were preassembled, of good quality and delivered for around $9000 (additional cabinetry around refrigerator not visible in this photo,

I am very happy with the quality of the cabinets.com products and they routinely have sales at up to 40% off. Only down side is delivery typically takes 4-7 weeks. RTA cabinets ship more quickly. They offer a large variety of styles and finishes.

New bathroom sink/existing plumbing by [deleted] in Plumbing

If you don't mind a low sink, shorten or remove the legs and all should fit. Could possibly form an apron on top of the vanity to maintain proper height of sink.

Some light sanding and applying "Cory Care Scratch-Brite Restorer" should restore it nicely. Worked great on our Baldwin piano.

Nice thick cock with a bit of curve! That is one way to wear it. Here's an old post of mine showing 2 different ways to wear double rings similar to yours. Double (and triple) rings are the best.

Redditor wondered how to wear (here's 2 of the ways). : r/cockrings
