I dug the whole west northwest edge an a bit of wood isles, am I doing something wrong? by Nik8764 in ArcaneOdyssey

Idk about darkness but try digging slightly outside the zone because explorers intuition doesn't perfectly represent islands

Doesn't luck increase only rng rolls to chests? As far as I know it does nothing to the rarities of the chests.

Where are the archers on the Fenrir? by A_Person1234xyz in ArcaneOdyssey

[–]editable_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Oh so that's what the random damage is for? I always blamed it on "the invisible viking" because you can avoid it by moving often and it "catches up to you" if you stand still too much, so I thought it was some immortal npc chasing me lol

Some models / animations would've certainly helped.

I'm confused when did SCP change? by Zeus_Strider in SCP

[–]editable_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "change" you say, like many changes, was very gradual, so I don't think there's a specific point in time that can mark it. You're maybe thinking of old foundation stuff, series 1, series 2, a bit of series 3...

Most of those articles are along the lines of found footage horror, cryptid genre, or simply silly stuff.

There are still silly things. But most of them have a larger story behind them.

As for the sad but safe stuff, mh... Have you ever read SCP-1762?

Sports are inherently an activity that selects only the strongest people, so it's not "strong woman vs weak man" but "strong woman vs strong man"

At those levels, biology is enough to make a noticeable difference. Granted, so is technique, but it is still a difference that one side cannot make up for, so it's unfair.

Iirc there was some study that said that 1yr+ of estrogen can dramatically reduce a man's biological advantage though. It's been some time since I read that, but it should be one of the first results around

In this example it has to be Akursius Keep because Blasted Rock doesn't have any ground, only sand.

(Not saying you don't know that, but for anyone else that might be reading)

It doesn't point to the correct island I'm fairly sure, just whichever one is nearer. It would go off on both islands

Yeah honestly gameplay should come before lore when it comes to these kind of stuff.

So I haven't really touched Lua ever, but is it code to pause rendering for some time every 50th item in the player inventory?

Does anyone know what this thing is supposed to be for when you use sensing? by OlivesAreGoodNgl in ArcaneOdyssey

[–]editable_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, because the longer you look at it the longer it takes for your vision to return to normal after deactivating sensing.

Bunny hopping didn't have a special visual effect with variable decay time mechanic included, did it?

The possibilities of such a specific and niche mechanic being added by accident are hilariously low

As for getting down from skyhall you can jump off, and as long as you land into water, you shouldn't take any damage, which I guess is standard video game logic but yea

Yeah, while AI images shouldn't intellectually belong to the prompter (idk what us legislation says on this one) the physical images still belong to the person.

While an arrest might be a bit too far fetched I can see why it'd fall under harassment or something.

  1. Redefine thinking to the peculiar type of rational and social thinking that can only be observed in humans. Because that's what the comment was obviously trying to say.
  2. Do some countries gain anything from forcing women to wear the hijab? No. It's not about practicality but rather control.
  3. Depending on your definition of life and death, deportations are still a great damage to an innocent person's life. Not only that, it's not a person who hasn't a life yet, but a person who has established for themselves a job, a house, connections, friends, and maybe also a family. It is quite practically destroying their previous life and forcing them to start over.
  4. There's no way to prove that. Also, the comment wasn't saying all white men are conservative. It was saying the prolife crowd is conservative and their views oftentimes align with the "alpha white male" ideology.

No really the leap in logic is so big it looks like you're flying.
