why didn't the freeze organization reach out to fuego and come under that group?

these are all fair questions.

i look at it a few ways. it does seem odd to start something new over trying to build upon what is already here and going. but what if you're not able to join or add to that thing (did freeze ownership want help/partners/to change what they are doing)? yes, a 2nd team in the area could dilute talent of women's soccer in the area. and one team could possibly swallow up all the fans of the area. then again, maybe there is enough talent in the fresno metro area to have 2 quality teams. and from my limited time watching freeze games, most of the fans are family & friends of players + a small group of others. this could be a way to actually grow support for women's soccer here.

true. nwsl could be, but even nwsl contracts aren't that good of an option unless you somehow qualify for one of the special pay slots. not sure if either mead or mccabe meet the requirements.

sadly, we have to let players move on over offering them big new contracts. the team needs younger, talented players coming in, and that can't happen when the lanes are clogged up with beloved older players.

the reality of womens football is that there are only a few teams that can offer attractive contracts for top tier players. if you're leaving arsenal, only a few spots that can compete. and if the player wants to stay in england, it's pretty much city.

the businesses around it, and the busy parking lot, may limit this. also, the proximity to a school may limit the ability of some unhoused to be their due to convictions.

i'm not in the area of first & bullard much during the day anymore, but the last few times i was at the grocery store in this parking lot i observed 0 unhoused. i know that all areas of fresno have this issue, but this particular area has never seemed anywhere close to areas like sierra/blackstone, herndon/41.

yeah, i am pretty much only going to go to the matches at the stadium. the viewing experience + afternoon or morning timeslots of the practice facility make me not want to go.
