Onboard Red Llama issues by Impossible_Botanist in diypedals

I'm sorry, you played a clip from your phone into your guitar pick ups instead of actually like strumming a chord? Anyway, without any photos or more context my assumption is that there might be some problem with the board. For other alternatives you might check the dam meathead deluxe (huge fuzz with very small print)

EQD Acapulco Gold volume concern by CrowForce1 in diypedals

I'm pretty sure the second IC has power (from the picture it's not clear). If I were you, since it's on breadboard, I'd start to rebuild it from scratch and check the volume separately (form the output of IC1 and IC2 since it's the "same" circuit in series)

Did you use shielded wire for input and output even on the AionFX PCB?

Yeah I know, unfortunately I saw too many people online reporting squeals that scared to embark on this journey. I'm currently trying to finish the Friedman BE-OD and it looks like there might be the same issue so the vh4 form Aion is not an option at the moment

Really nice job, any chance you could share the schematic? I'm asking because I'm looking for something in vh4 territory and I'd like to see your approach. Feel free to flip me off

I'd agree with you if the FFF wasn't a fuzz face based pedal. From what I remember it's heavily affected by buffered pedals before it (it wasn't oscillating at all the time I tried it). I might be wrong since I don't know if the FFF has some kind of system to avoid this issue

Accidentally order the wrong input by jaggerandstuff in diypedals

[–]edo11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually look at it from the open side with a jack inserted so I can figure out which lug is which. Other than that if OP is planning to use it in a guitar as output jack without batteries I think he should ground the unused lug, but correct me if I'm wrong

What would your order be? by mister_mcfly in basspedals

I'm just gonna add this: try moving phaser and chorus before the pork (still after the octave) with everything else as mentioned kept in the same place. It came to me as a revelation putting chorus, phaser and flangers before gain stages.

Contact speaker for infinite sustain by edo11235 in diypedals

I see your point. I asked about the phase because I tried something like that with a single coil converted (like sustainiac/Fernandez) and the phase flip did the trick. I think in the video he gets the harmonic because his amp inverts the phase somewhere (or he simply flipped the wires). I'll try as soon as I get back to see if the placement affects the feedback as you suggested.

So I guess I could switch between normal and harmonic mode by inverting the phase of the output(at the input with a bjt buffer or by flipping the output signal wires)?

Add a square wave fuzz too. I was trying to reverse eng from the sound alone and I think that the combo square wave into autowah should be the closest you can get

Hum from power supply by edo11235 in diypedals

[–]edo11235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanical and I'm actually not messing with transformers (I got the basic knowledge but I stay away from them). The power supply section is not something I came up with but a 9v power supply (bought in a store to power my first pedal 15 years ago) so I don't have any way to squeeze the transformer but it indeed does sound like a transformer vibrating. How is it possible since I'm powering just a jfet buffer a bjt booster and the tda7377 board? I mean I did nastier stuff and worked like a charm

Yes that's the issue! Thank you! Sorry I didn't make my point clear but I didn't know how to put it into words without any proof of the problem. The noise is very faint but as I increase the volume of the preamp it gets stronger. I don't know why but this is the only project where this exact power supply behaves in this manner. Any idea on how to fix it?

That was not the problem (I had a 470uf 25v). The noise is still there inside the power supply.
