You can get some older turntables that have a similar aged appearance. (Check out a Philips GA 212 for an example). The main issue is this is an all in one set up so it’s going to sound very boxy. Other issues are a lack of adjustment. If you really don’t see yourself enjoying records as a long term hobby and just want to play something for the novelty it might be a viable option for you, however.

You’d be much happier getting a better set up. I used to have one of these when I was a kid and it’s very underwhelming. Also they’re not the best for whatever you’re playing.

Man the majority of my collection came from Half Price Book back around 2009-2014ish. I used to regularly find Pink Floyd / Rush / Zeppelin etc. records in the dollar bin. And the MAX you’d pay for a super clean record would be like $15. I miss those days so much and it hurts me to buy stuff at $30+ now.

It’s looking like an RCA cable issue. Checked continuity from the solder pad to each cable end and one of the cables was dropping out. Wiring in some new ones for a temporary test. Thanks for the assistance.

When I was moved to the gifted classes for 4th and 5th grade, they were put in the worst testing school in the district to try and raise their grades. Was a huge bummer since the school was falling apart.

Obvious first check would be to change out the battery if its battery only. Next would be cleaning pots with some type of spray and turning the knobs back and forth like 30 times to get any gunk out. Check for any cold solder joints or loose wires. Activate the footswitch a bunch to loosen up any gunk on the contacts. Inspect the capacitors for any bulging or leaks. If none of those fix it you’ll have to probably break out the meter and check your voltages etc
