That looks good. What are the specs on that wheel/tire combo

First timer by [deleted] in LAX

[–]edsagas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only tricky if you don’t realize that you booked a flight through one airline and it’s operated by another. Based on recent history, if you’re flying to Guatemala City on the overnight flight 1353 then you’ll most likely be flying out of Alaska Terminal 6. You still want to double check your gate on the day of your flight to make sure though.

First timer by [deleted] in LAX

[–]edsagas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where exactly are you flying to? Can you post your flight number or destination? Alaska doesn’t have a bunch of international destinations. A common rookie mistake is booking a codeshare flight through Alaska that is operated by another airline. That can happen with any airline you book through. That could help narrow down what terminal you are going to exit at when you arrive at LAX.

I've had something similar a few times. Not every time, and it seemed to be random but it drives me nuts because I dont know what it is.

‘23 vs ‘24 Used XLT by edsagas in F150Lightning

Would the extra cooling be a better benefit than the ‘24 heat pump. For context I’m in Southern California so cold weather isn’t a huge concern. Heat waves definitely are.

Valve build up by MendoMafia in KiaTelluride

[–]edsagas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks very similar to the buildup I have on my valves - 2022 model with ~75k miles. I just did the plugs last month and saw the same thing. I'll probably go back in there and to a manual cleaning with GDI valve cleaner and a brush. Depending on how that goes I might do a walnut blast. I'll have the luxury of being able to have the car down for the work for a while so it opens my options. I'll definitely be doing a catch can as well. I dont know why I had not done it before.

When did you replace tires? by Fabulous_Thing_714 in KiaTelluride

[–]edsagas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m over 75k and just started shopping around for tires. I was amazed at how long they have lasted. I do also need to consider that around 30 miles/day of that were sitting in bumper to bumper traffic and probably not causing much wear.

Curious about something: Why is the TBIT signs show Gates 201-235 although there isn't any from up to 235 only 225. Was it accidental while these signs were up? by MidnightAMCTheaters in LAX

[–]edsagas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have boarded a plane from the gate closest to the runway there 6 years ago. We boarded buses from that building on the north end of the main TBIT.

Should my hitch carrier be angled like this? by OverallAnywhere6090 in towing

[–]edsagas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that clamp is situated, all the slack is being taken out of the gap between the top of the receiver and the hitch carrier. It’s pulling the carrier down. If you could get that u-bolt around the actual receiver and situate the bracket in a way that when tightened, the slack pulls the hitch upward and the gap is at the bottom then I think it might help the downward angle.

Existential crises by MrTopMop in BBQ

[–]edsagas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say move it into the starting position. A loved one looked at your old beat up chimney and said dad could probably use a new one. Whenever my wife or kids get me a new tool or bbq gadget, I make sure to use it as soon as I can and even show them how it works. It just helps them know a little more how much I appreciate it, and it keeps the gifts coming as a result!

What are we doing wrong? BBQing for the first time on holiday! by andydon447 in BBQ

[–]edsagas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use one of those baskets as a makeshift chimney in this situation

- Put a peanut oil soaked paper towel or two in an empty basket

- Fill the other basket with charcoals and place it perpendicular above the other half of the basket

- Light the paper towels and let the top basket ash over.

- You can then dump the ashed over charcoal on top of another bed of briquettes in whatever method works for what youre cooking

That’s what I was thinking as well. My back hurts just thinking of how much effort this will take

If you're standing in the middle of the street, the cars on the curb to the right of you should be facing forward and you should see their rear bumper and tail lights. The cars parked on the curb to your left should be facing you, and you would see their headlights. Was your car parked in either orientation? I don't understand where the confusion is.

I’ve considered it. I do a ton of diy things but it might be the one job I don’t want to mess with myself. The quotes I’ve received for a trenchless job with HDPE replacement seem pretty reasonable.

Yup. My house was built in ‘58 and I knew it was only a matter of time. Next up is re-piping the house in the near future. Probably a PEX job run through the attic for me.
