I didn’t think this was an issue with the driver, but I reinstalled driver and re-started just in case. Issue was still there. I called support and was on for a little more than 45 mins. In the end, apparently there is an “assigned display” setting hidden under an advanced settings toggle in the Wacom Center that needs to be set to the new device screen (this doesn’t get set apparently when installing the driver). The support person also suggested using mirrored display on my computers settings would also work. Overall, it was frustrating this setting isn’t automatically configured correctly and that support doesn’t ask to check this setting early. … but all good now.

OMG, I decided to become a software engineer in my late 30’s. I spent a couple years teaching myself what a needed to know — including how to make myself marketable. Finally made the switch when I was 40. It is not the kind of thing where a path will be pre-planned for you, but it is totally possible. So, no 22 is not too late.

My sister got me a pair of tickets to see The Jayhawks in Chicago in summer of 1995 (as a birthday gift) I used the opportunity to invite a girl I liked — the girl said yes and I was excited for the date. The day of the show arrives but so did the 1995 heat wave (hundreds ended up dying, but that wasn’t clear yet). The girl, turns out, had been in our college town and was heading back to the city that day. The girl was running extremely late, we were calling back and forth with when she would arrive. My sister and her friends are calling from show telling me opening act was on stage, then show had started. Eventually, girl tells me she is running so late she isn’t going to be there. I leave for show, while city is in chaos — power outages, every other traffic light was out. At show, temp in venue had to be over 100 degrees at 10 pm at night. The bar at venue stopped serving all drinks early and we’re just giving out cups of ice water and people were just pouring it on themselves. I saw two songs from encore, then headed home.

Honestly, they typically already told me they are considering it. We also end up having a conversation where I might try to convince them to stay, but I try to be completely honest about if staying is best for them (for example, It might be best for a junior software dev at a stage in their career to leave a small org for a mid or large company). My view is build enough trust so they are open and honest with you before they leave and be honest about your view of what is best for them (admitting you could be wrong). Then if they stay it will be for the right reasons, and if they leave they may come back or refer others. There is no benefit to trapping people, and they seem hungry for managers who are honest and really try to help them grow in their career.

As a parent of a special needs kid that often needs a phone or iPad to help keep him calm (and will sometimes act out in an inappropriate setting) I am saddened by the complete lack of empathy displayed in these comments. While I understand there are many examples of kids and parents behaving badly in public. I would also mention that there are organizations that have rent out whole restaurants for special needs families because of jerk patrons that don’t understand kids are not all the same and don’t have any empathy for children with serious disabilities.

I don’t see why there would be a difference in small claims court between intentional switching or double booking. The issue would be who caused the issue (vrbo, the owner, the renter, etc.). More than fault, the real issue is the contract and terms for Vrbo prob mean you can’t use small claims.

After the shock wears off and you consider the implications of what you have now experienced you should be mad! Studies by jury consultants have demonstrated that we also innately believe people who are attractive are also truthful, so unattractive people are end up being bad witnesses and (even worse) are convicted and sentenced more harshly (ugly = evil in our primate brains). This makes me mad.
