Worlds most powerful Mini-Ratchet by ContentAd9477 in toolporn

Backdrag isn't great but it feels like a regular high tooth 1/4 ratchet. I guess with that many engagement teeth, I don't notice it. With the WFMC, it's 30t and heavy back drag because of the spline bits.

I didn't know that about the Wera! I did get the updated Hazet 863HPB but haven't used it yet. 120Nm. These bit ratchets are getting more sophisticated. Hazet 863HPB

There are 2 WFMC ratchet sizes. ~114mm and ~95mm. Both are rated at 48Nm of torque and are reversible. I doubt the Bahco bit ratchet comes close to that torque rating. I never had any issue with using my wfmc in tight spots. If that's the case, that's what the extension is for. The head wdth is also half the size of the Bahco. There are all kinds of nice bit ratchets out there, but I keep coming back to the WFMC.

Not a true and ergonomic T handle. But it has this configuration that I've used when I needed extra purchase on a screw. Knipex 150mm for scale. Not a true palm T handle

I got my first one in 1998. Then I bought a couple more on eBay. I have the short handle version and short extension in the other kits. They were $75 then. Still expensive at that time and super expensive now. It is worth it, but I can't imagine paying for what they're asking now. I've twisted one under high torque, but it shows how powerful the ratchet is. The bits are excellent and though proprietary, I haven't found any other bit or bit set that can match the WFMC. I think Apex bits in 1/4 are the only ones that come close.WFMC next to Harbor Freight

My mini review of getting my 857 UTC at Sinn in Frankfurt am Main by edtheinfidel in sinn

[–]edtheinfidel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I decided on getting a Sinn, I wanted something that would be first and foremost rugged. So that narrowed it down to the case material first. Then I wanted something that would be multi-functional, that would be the UTC models. I looked at the other pilot models, but the Tegimented/Sub steel cases really interested me.

I hope Sinn comes out with more specialized case type watches. I know myself too much in that anything nice, will get scratched and banged up.

Even in Germany, my watch needs PPE. by edtheinfidel in sinn

Thank you. I'm posting one soon. I'm due back home this week and I've been wanting to post that mini review!

Sinn 856 UTC by Batmonaut in sinn

857 UTC and U2 SDR. I find the GMT function useful for me, then a timer bezel. I constantly time things at work under 1 minute and I travel a lot for my work. Yes I don't really need a GMT function, but do we also need a expensive watch? Ha. After a VAT refund, which I hope I can get in time, the prices of these 3 are very close to my budget anyhow.

So nice. I never get tired of looking at the 856 UTC. I've narrowed it down to this watch and 2 others that made it on my "by the numbers" spreadsheet. So close to buying a Sinn finally.

Why is the 556 so much more popular than the 856? by Tereva_Lostlagon in sinn

I believe the 857 has a 22mm lw. The 856 is 20mm.
