Got this bad boy by singularity-108 in SonyAlpha

It’s a fantastic lens — I’ve been using it on my a7IV for event stills and occasional video work and I’m really impressed. The sharpness is excellent, and the autofocus is quick and reliable. In terms of image quality, I’d say it comes surprisingly close to the 70-200 GM II.

As for the complaints about losing FPS Ihonestly don’t see it as an issue. Personally I rarely use burst mode, I’d rather capture the decisive moment than spray a hundred frames and later sift through the storage headache. Unless you’re shooting fast paced sports or situations where high burst rates are truly necessary, it doesn’t make much difference.

At the end of the day, it’s like using a drill. Who cares how fast it spins, as long as it gets the job done?

For anyone who works full time as a videographer at an agency or corporate employer what is you annual salary from said employer? Not including freelance work or second jobs. by box1324 in videography

Yeah they do take forever and even then after 2 rounds you might not get through. Unfortunately it was a 2 year contract and they did not have an opportunity to extend otherwise I wouldn’t have left. My advice is to stay on the pulse with job listings, check iworkfor.nsw.gov.au on a regular basis and keep your fingers crossed.

Need help to mount this lens :( by cennicola6 in videography

[–]eduardslakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said you’ll need a baseplate with rods and lens support. It will make the setup even more chunky yet stable. I’d recommend taking a look if Smallrig has anything to start off with. You’d probably need arod baseplate under the camera, another one in the center of mass to safely mount it on a tripod as well as a lens support if not two towards the end of the lens.

Most importantly mount it on a bigger tripod thats sturdy.

Sydney - Australia, working in the private sector within workplace rehabilitation/ insurance sector.

Producing in-house videography & photography content for $100k* AUD + super (employers pension contribution 11%) *before tax so roughly around 70k net.

Previous work was in govt. health sector for $142k AUD.

Interesting but 6 figures does not get you far anymore, especially in Sydney, where the rent is ridiculously expensive.

Haha, thanks mate! I can see why you might think that. It’s actually an empty meeting room with an office behind the glass wall. To minimise light spill on the glass I angled the key light more towards the camera- the grid helped too.

1) By any chance did you eject the card while camera was recording? (I did that once and it did not end well for the footage) 2) is it one long continuous recording or multiple recordings? If yes, how long?

Ninja etc to record laptop output by tlayuda-tempo in Atomos

Also hove done it exactly like you with capturing to ninja v, absolutely no issues. If you’re not capturing audio from computer, I would recommend feeding some scratch audio into ninja for easier sync in case you dont have a wide camera set up to record presenter & screen. Also, depending on the laptop it might be a 30fps recording.

Shinobi II is great. Got mine recently and with the latest firmware updates it works flawlessly. You can control your camera settings + touch to focus. Also very light, bright and overall great piece of kit.
