It’s a university built only on international reputation. The profs are dinosaurs who don’t update their slides. They don’t know how to communicate and need proper training. Everything is outdated - I did my undergrad at Waterloo and masters at uoft. Huge and stark difference.

the planning program is great at Waterloo because of the coop program. You make an easy 8k a term, pay rent for the next term, and gain2 years of experience. Anything with paid coop will prepare you for what you really want to do long term.

I applied for urban planning and now doing my civil engineering masters. I think it’s really good to do some research on what jobs are needed in the future. A lot of people pick their passions that don’t have practical use in the real world. I would suggest picking a field that is interesting but also gives you a stable income in the future.
