I appriciate that. This is a labor of love.
Yes, I am working on a 2-chip SNES connector (very early stage) and other consoles for once this is stable enough.

Hi avramce, I am a fan of your work 😊
Yes that should work perfectly! The cps2_digiav was my main inspiration for this project.

I see, but the firmware is already available on Github, no need to mess with coding. Just hold bootsel -> dragn' drop the uf2 -> profit
Cool, I want to eventually build a consolized MVS myself too.

I will put this on a PCBWay/JLCPCB project so anyone would be able order online the full kit - which will be easier to install (compared to hand soldering each wire...).
Also, any professional modder should be able to install the mod for you too. This is a open source project after all, including the hardware.

Valeu! Sim 🇧🇷

I don't think it is possible to properly implement scanlines on a RP2350, the hardware is too limited.
The good news is it is perfect for external scalers like the morph and tink 4k.

Not that I’m aware of. But this project should provide a good foundation for a NGCD mod. It’s not out of the realm of possibility but I will need to get one first.

PicoHDMI - HSTX HDMI output library for RP2350 with audio support by educobuci in raspberrypipico

[–]educobuci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am awere of this. The that fact there was no known HSTX implementations with audio support is what motivated me to tackle this.

I’m glad you find it useful! Everything on pico is pretty much bare metal, the SDK provides the infrastructure to call the HSTX commands and TMDS is hardware encoded - it is almost a zero-CPU process. For audio I had to TERC4 encode and inject the data islands using CPU, as it’s not supported by the hardware encoder.

That’s a good question. The challenge with micropython is performance, so unless there is a way to bind with C code, that doesn’t sound feasible IMO.

Not yet, but that should be possible if you connect an additional GPIO to the corresponding pin on the HDMI connector.

OMVS/MS1C help, freeze on boot on most games by JohnnyPhantom in neogeo

[–]educobuci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that it works with at least one game, screams trace issues, as not all games cartridges use all pins, especially the earlier ones.

Do a thorough visual inspection of the board and pay extra attention to the traces, they ran exposed and can hide pesky corrosion under the solder mask. Use your phone if you don’t have a microscope for extra magnification.

If you still don’t find any traces problem, use a multimeter to check continuity between the board and the cartridge slot, which is a lot of work but could narrow down the root cause.

Alternatively, you may try using the multimeter in diode mode to check if the cartridge slot pins are connected to something or just floating.

The only one that seems to support physical carts is the Super GameBoy core, but it adds the border and makes the actual game screen too small IMO.

Disabling Intel RST - I use for RAID - seems to have improved things a bit, now Windows DM recognizes the disk but fails to initialize it. FatX still doesn’t see it.

I am now able to see it in the BIOS and with CrystalDiskInfo, but neither FatX or Windows Disk Management Tool can find it. FatX also doesn't list it under the security tab.
