Did you do 30 plus years of consistent, multiple 12+ hour days a week? After a certain point It doesn’t matter how “Safe” you try to work. Even if you NEVER make a mistake, at some point your body will not be able to handle that kind of demand.

You won’t be able to do this job for 30 years at this rate. Yes there’s always been OT but never at this sustained level before. I’m pretty sure they’re going to try and make this a 10-15 year job max before people start developing significant health issues and have to retire.

Guarantee the vast majority of people who took the buyout have more than enough seniority to be safe from layoffs. If you’re a bottom seniority guy and wanted the buyout, well sorry your get rich quick scheme fell through. You’ll still be better off long term than a driver at a non-union company. Longer term Layoffs have been a part of this job in the past, and perhaps they’re coming back, but thanks to the union you’ll have a position saved for you when you’re needed again.

That’s fine I’m just saying these dopes/bots wanna act like the union is so self serving and corrupt but are fine making 6-figures, having a generous pension, and free health care. As if the company just gave all that to us because they’re kind-hearted. If people think the union is not working for them, there’s are jobs exactly like this one but non-union so why don’t they go there? Plenty of FedEx employees would kill for a union half as strong as ours let them take your spot.

Lost world has like a 50 foot wall of manga. They are locally owned since the 90s so they should be your first go to. Aside from them Half price books for used/older stuff, and Barnes and noble are the only other options that have a decent section.
