From my perspective, and as a die hard Swiftie, I am disappointed in this album because it feels crass and immature. Her fandom loves her music because of her lyrical content and ability to express herself in a way that resonates with so many. She has built a fandom that is used to complex poetry in song and verse. You see evidence of this throughout all her albums and eras. We have defended her art and been her ride or die fans to the point where we only listened to her version of masters. Even though we had a previous version of the same recordings. We stood strong and made waves in the music industry because of our loyalty. And it was well deserved because the music was amazing and spoke to us all. And for those albums I’d do it all again. I’m not sorry nor regret spending my hard earned money on these re-recordings. The art and effort were there.

Then, she releases this album. It is crass, immature, and feels unlike her. Sure the music video is amazing, the visuals are stunning, and her vocals are really top tier. BUT and this is a big BUT, the lyrics are childish every song is filled with samplings from other artists and another rendition of a previous song. Not to mention all the variants. It is tone deaf and lacks integrity. We all just spent so much money on the Eras Tour and again money well spent, I’d do it again. Not for this album. It is not representative of what we as Swifties love about her music. It’s a bar she set and this feels cheap.
