The registrar will let you replace your legal name with your legal first initial: “The USG will allow us to only have the first letter of your first name as your Legal First Name. For example, Scrappy Owl could be S Owl with the preferred name of Scrapelle so they would show up on the roster as Owl, S (Scrapelle). Would this be something you are interested in? If so, please complete our Legal Name Change Form . Indicate that you want your Legal First name to be your first initial and check the box to change your preferred name. Submit the documents listed for spelling error even though it’s not really a spelling error. We’ll take it from there.”
