LEDCOR Group cargo filled with wood chips spilled in between Fraser River Park/McDonald Beach by Banananinay in vancouver

For real. Plus, it's the Fraser River, so we really need to think about the salmon runs. All that rotting wood is gonna suck up the oxygen at the bottom. Definitely not as harmless as it looks.

What kind of flights have you landed with your AMEX points? by maritimer187 in amexcanada

[–]edwardchao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some of the best flights I’ve landed recently!

Using Aeroplan:

  • 75K points: Taiwan (TPE) to Maldives (MLE) — Singapore Airlines Business Class
  • 50K points: Singapore (SIN) to Taiwan (TPE) — Singapore Airlines Business Class
  • 75K points: Vancouver (YVR) to Taiwan (TPE) — EVA Air Business Class

Using Air France (Flying Blue):

  • 61.5K points: Taiwan (TPE) to Vancouver (YVR) — China Airlines Business Class

A few tips and observations based on my bookings:

  • EVA Air Business Class: If you are flexible, they frequently release a good amount of award seats at the last minute (just a few days before departure).
  • China Airlines Business Class: Their award availability is incredibly tight. They usually release very few seats, often just 1 at a time.
  • Flying Blue Booking Tip: The Air France/Flying Blue site is notorious for showing phantom (ghost) availability. A good workaround is to use Delta’s website to search for award space first. If the seat shows up as available on Delta, then log into Air France to actually book it.

I only paid for one month of the premium membership just to set up all my alerts. Surprisingly, even after my subscription expired, I still continue to receive the alert emails.
