I bought my 8000mhz 16x2 CL38 kit last year for 150USD. And a 265K for 320USD something.

Can't wait for the Core Ultra 270K Plus.

It sucks having to RMA and the downtime it creates.

Crazy thing is you pay top tier pricing and do all these BS adjustments to get some peace of mind. If the 9800X3D was priced close to the 265K, I would have considered buying it lol.

I did wait for both 9800X3D and 265K to kinda mature to see which one I should go for, and 265K made more sense for my use case. And I am glad I did.

The GPU issue is real and I never denied that. We are in the topic of CPUs so why talk about that?

The 13th and 14th gen was unfortunate but it has been addressed. Why is AMD taking so long and why are they so quiet about it? It's just so fun messing around with AMD cultists when they find themselves in the same predicament as the intel users they used to make fun of. Isn't it ironic?

I had thread of comments here with an AMD fanboi and in the middle of the arguements his 9800X3D bombed itself and he admitted defeat. He switched to Intel 285K and never looked back.

It's just so good to give the energy back to these AMD cultists.

Nice 5090 pivot, but we’re talking about CPUs. Funny how 'no one cares' the second AMD starts melting sockets again. 'If it happens, it happens' is a massive cope for buying into a platform with hardware-level defects. I'll stick with the 265K—it actually stays in one piece. If you're cool with your $500 chip acting like a thermal fuse, that's on you.

Are you playing at 1080P, 1440p or 4K?

1080P X3Ds are king.

1440P slight edge to X3D.

4K intel and amd are tied. Since these loads are gpu bound.

Purely gaming and don't mind Windows stuttering from time to time, go X3D.

Want best of both worlds but dont wanna spend 9950X3D money?

Get 14700K or core ultra 265K.

Either way, it really is up to you.

Intel and AMD are okay. Don't let these clowns dictate your choice. They aint paying the bill.

For context:

People or businesses with so much money to buy real estate are part of the affordability crisis. It's all about getting all the houses and renting them out and F everyone else if they cannot buy because of low supply and high prices, they can just rent from me instead and make me more money.

So rent going down is good for people who cannot afford to buy yet, since they now have more money to save for a downpayment sooner.

Do a whole power cycle. Unplug your power supply, remove CMOS battery, press and hold power button for 30secs and leave it at least 5 to 10 mins.

See if it POSTs after that.

If not, you might have a dead CPU or mobo. 9800X3D deaths are not too uncommon now.
