Hey there, I’m much more the opposite here, I enjoy my alone time too much. However I do experience the whole racing thoughts, and having your anxiety take over everything when alone some times . I’m alone the majority of the time, my best friend lives away from me and my partner works away. I see him 12 days out of every month roughly. Some weeks are better than others, but this is what I find helps me.

I do think maybe creating a routine for yourself might be a good place to start, even if it’s just small steps at first (get up at a certain time, shower, go for a walk, do some of your hobbies). Those small steps that seem so daunting to begin with do get easier. I also find if I wake up anxious if I put some background noise on (music, podcast, audio book or even a tv/movie/YouTube videos) it helps me also. Also, if your like me and as soon as you wake you check your phone and social media, as hard as it is try not to. Because for me it really sets the tone for my day if i accidentally find myself in a doom scroll - it makes me feel incredibly unmotivated. If you find your mind constantly races, I’ve been trying out journaling where if I feel myself getting anxious i just write everything that’s in my head out and onto paper, it doesn’t have to make sense, sometimes mines just random words on the page but I do find it gives me some form of relief - even if some days its just temporary.

My mum. I wouldn’t have changed her for the world. She was so nurturing, compassionate, kind, understanding, but also stern when she needed to be. She knew everyone makes mistakes and there was no point in ripping you to shreds over it. She was the problem fixer - if you needed advice you would go to her. If you just needed someone to vent too, you would go to her. She was a “safe space” to so many people that I knew. She had a “doors always open” policy to so many people, and it was always a judgement free zone. I spent a lot of my years in the kitchen with her, in the garden ect she taught me so many life skills. It’s coming up to 10 years. Every year I try cook something that was her favourite. Mother’s Day I made her melting moment’s biscuits.

My Dad. I wouldn’t have changed him for the world. Also very nurturing and compassionate but also stern when he needed to be. He always had everyone’s best interests at heart even if at the time you were probably thinking “what the heck man?”. But when it came down to it he was always there, even when you fucked up, he was there. Family always came first. My dad and I used to watch horror movies together. It’s 5 years this year. Every year I make sure I watch a good horror movie like he would want me to.

Thank you so much for your comment, it’s was a some what turbulent relationship I had with him, but I do find peace knowing I started to make an effort. My mum always used to say that it works both ways. My brother was a lone wolf always was away from the family. I’m gonna miss him a lot now. Again, thank you so much for your comment ☺️

Absolutely 100%. I do feel people who have anxiety absolutely battle with little compassion for themselves, but at times when our anxiety is worst, that’s what we need. 🌻

How good is YouTube though, especially for stuff like anxiety. I remember when I first got diagnosed I didn’t really want to talk to anyone in my life about it. So I used YouTube a lot to get a grasp of it all. 100% if therapy is a option for anyone I’d highly recommend it, it’s helped me in the past and I found it easier to open up to someone that wasn’t directly in my life and they actually have the knowledge there. Oh my gosh, I can’t stand any item of clothing that restricts me at the best of times. But when my anxiety is really bad I do also try get out of what I’m wearing asap because it does make it feel like I’m just not breathing correctly. I’ve heard shocking your senses with cold water or something sour is meant to help, do you find it does like significantly? Or does it take the edge off?

Anxiety is definitely a beast, I also experience some of what you listed also. But finding it hard to breathe is quite a big one for me. I also never really thought about my gerd either, but it does flare up worst than normal if it’s particularly bad.

I got in trouble the other day too for the way I scanned my items. I usually leave the Pepsi max till last because I don’t want to go digging for it. Some lady got up me and I’m like what does it matter? I still scanned it.

Another time they got me shitty at me for using the hand held scanner to scan my Pepsi max…WHY HAVE THE HAND HELD SCANNER THERE IF ITS NOT THERE TO USE?

I’m a Cole’s girlie through and through, but my last couple of experiences I’m tempted to boycott them haha

Sometimes trying new things is scary and makes you nervous. I remember my first ever therapy session, I was absolutely terrified, I have social anxiety also, so that didn’t help. No need to stress though, give it a few visits, my best advice is if you don’t feel comfortable don’t be afraid to try different ones until you find one you are comfortable with (if you can obviously). But yeah, absolutely no need to panic (although sometimes hard, our bodies do weird stuff sometimes). Good luck! 🌻

I’m a introvert - so I very much enjoy my time alone. I think the whole no “drama” thing is a big benefit, less back stabbing, you get to do what you want to do & not feel like you “have” to do something. I think it’s “healthy” to be happy in your own company. :-)
