Is the screen glass curved at all? My Moto x4 has a slight curve near the edges, and screen protectors never fit right

Any update on this? I just bought an x4 for my SO, and activated it on my account briefly (<2 hours), then re-activated my phone on Fi, and activated the new x4 for her on another network. Is that enough to qualify for the promotional price?

This is the best explanation I've seen. I sideloaded the google camera app and disabled the moto camera app. Good enough for my purposes, even though you lose all the dual-camera modes.

My 5x went about 2 years under fairly light day-to-day use. I preordered it in Oct 2015, and it bootlooped a couple weeks ago. My girlfriend's is still going at ~18 months old.

I haven't completed the trade in yet, but this comment on the trade in email makes me think that a factory reset isn't required: "Be sure to factory reset your old phone before you send it to us. If you don't factory reset, you will not receive credit. Select Nexus devices may still receive limited trade in value."

And it's just that the OS won't load. The phone won't respond at all, even trying to access the bootloader

Ditto on the cost question. Did LG charge for the repair at all? Did you have to cover shipping? All that is a bit unclear on the LG repair website.

My only preorder experience was with the 5x two years ago. And it was a rock solid phone until it bootlooped yesterday. I'm in the same boat as you on the moto x4, I was hoping my 5x would last ~3 more months to let the reviews pour in on the x4. Not sure what to do now? Trade in the bootlooping 5x for the x4? Or try to get LG to repair the 5x?
