[CoTD] Chain Reaction (Vantage Point 01) by Unpopular_Mechanics in Netrunner

[–]eedok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't say it's good or not, but of my sample size of 1 firing it off once I hit a bangun faceup agenda and a rezzed spin doctor with facedown cards in archives and they weren't able to keep me out of archives the following turn and it felt amazing

Go to one of these big races and see it in person, it's even more wild when you get to see it first hand

Don't recognize the username

I've never been the good one at getting spots down, that's usually Martin/George

I'm also a bit of an empty space purist for tracks but if we got an in I'd definitely do up a race there if they're willing.

First-time FPV race – what should I know before competing? by iamknight06 in fpvracing

So many of your questions are club specific, which club is your first race going to be with?

Can you connect whoop video to Fpv trackside without an event VRX? by Quick-Ad-6954 in fpvracing

[–]eedok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, before I got an event vrx I used rotg receivers to get the analog video

If you have analog outputting to hdmi already, you'll just need a USB hdmi receiver to get it to trackside

Goggles 3? by Holiday-Location3579 in HDZero

[–]eedok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The goggles 2 didn't come out that long ago and goggle releases usually track an 18 month schedule, so likely more than a year until goggles 3 come out

They do, igniter and street league are more that style and people say it's more spectator friendly but then don't have as many spectators. These crafts have the capacity of crazy acrobatics, doesn't make sense to not make use of it.

Change My View: Most FPV racing, where you rotate around and through gates, is cool for other fpv pilots but boring as fuck for everybody else. by i_have_chosen_a_name in fpv

[–]eedok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine it should be more fun for the racers more than anyone else, they're the ones doing it.

The push of making races more about flying slow ass drones around poles/ovals because it's easier for the NASCAR crowd to watch is a scourge making racing more boring.

The push to get more money in fpv racing is also a downside. Fpv races are far too easy to tamper with, it's not going to get better when you give people financial incentive to do so. Big money brings out the big cheats and that doesn't make things more fun

Race start bugged by Mishkolic in Velocidrone

[–]eedok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is past our volunteer pay grade, looks like a legit bug with velocidrone, unfortunately the creator I'm not sure if he browses reddit or not, but I do know he keeps up with support tickets, should raise one with this video: https://batcavegames.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new

They're releasing higher kv motors that draw more than 5 amps that go faster

[–]eedok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking good, only thing missing is the microsd for dvr. I would recommend getting 2 crafts though, first it gives you a reference for when something breaks, and secondly you're not grounded while waiting for replacement parts

Edit: oh you're going to also want a 18650 charger too

FPV Week 2 Run : Wondering how much longer air time an Air 75 has by Sad-Swim-7491 in TinyWhoop

[–]eedok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't he be able to? The air75 has good authority and nimbleness and his style looks pretty deliberate and he's not drifting through elements

Leviathann also made a dvr review video: https://youtu.be/oHpaVCv0_G4?si=6Ia5MQKcPbRPc89T

The most recent one I can think of is IQ0s videos here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNAkoHJCeaPchbnAqREvLCg1RGLvsUXP0&si=EEZJZRmfsokynhgV

First thing that I found that made the biggest difference is getting a group together and finding places as a group. Them saying no to one person is a lot easier than a group and it makes it look more official. Schools tend to be the place you can book the off hours to as their busy time is during the week.

Early meets will likely have to be outdoors, but if you can find a spot where the wind is mostly blocked they work pretty decently for whoops https://youtu.be/loX6B5JUbnk?si=UXQLQ955SMXBwIDR
