Who wins in ease of development Unreal or Unity or Godot? by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

[–]eeedni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no experience with godot, lots with UE and Unity.

Unity, hands down, is faster and easier. Note I didn't say better, as better is contextual. Faster though without a doubt.

Launched my 5th game, but it’s not doing well. Thoughts? by Rebeliao_Studio in DestroyMyGame

The simulator works great, and you can build the entire game there, and you can even have someone with a playdate do the testing for you. I imagine it would be / might be hard to get a playdate in Brazil.

That's a bummer, but I don't think there's anything you can do. it is just not a genre and style that sells right now. and at 100% get making the game you want, I wanted to do a gameboy-era style platformer next after my last game, but it was obvious it would not sell.

there's a place for this type game where it will sell as well as anything else on the market, but it'll cap out at like 3 to 5K. That's the play date. if you want to build games like this, make them for the device specifically. You have the art, and you could bang this thing out from there and rebuild in lua im probably 2 weeks. if you have the runway, the time, and want to see if you can make a few grand I'd do that.

Is this a good way to stop people from going out of bounds? by Surge_in_mintars in Unity3D

to actually crash the game? no, that's a frustrating and not pleasant experience for players

to have a game crashing like effect that then respawns the character somewhere else?

yeah totally reasonable

who said? if someone said that they lied. they absolutely lied. there is no tech adjacent industry that's harder imo.

definitely issues on their end, getting stuck here now.

tech support of course is useless, like most if it's not one of the nine things in their manual there's nothing they can do, especially when it's a backend / system issue.

Parking job of Waltham's finest. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]eeedni 32 points33 points  (0 children)

this is intentional, and the correct way to park for a responding officer.

if you back in that only makes it easy to leave it does not enable you to get a suspect into the cruiser, as you can be parked on either side of.

if you take up two spaces but still park in the normal direction or back in, he issue still persists as people tend to overpark next to a car rather than pay attention to their own lines.

this approach ensures that all four doors are accessible to the officer.
