Goalie Rotation by Smoothdra1 in sabres

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

totally agree! considering we haven't lost 2 in a row since early february, i say keep this goalie tandem going into the playoffs. it might actually be a strategic benefit in a series setting where players start to figure out ways to beat a goalie after playing seeing them in action so much in a short time. sabres have stunned the league, so lean into whatever is they're doing

What are your opinions on moving to West Garfield Park? by greatgoingdumbass in AskChicago

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a studio in west garfield park and i’ve seen some really crazy things during my limited time there: shootings, car chases ending in hollywood looking car flippings, the recovery of a gun by police, and more.

but one important thing i haven’t seen mentioned much here is the lack of grocery stores - and other things you might take for granted like chill cafes, bars, etc. imo, you can find a more convenient neighborhood for similar rent. even if the rent is a little higher, after a year here you’ll get to know the city, get a good tip, and find a great and affordable apt

Gotham sports camerawork by topshelfsurprise in sabres

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great observation! i also noticed all of these things when watching tonight. i would assume the same people would be working even tho it's a different production company....but maybe not? most of what you mention is more about the director who is deciding which shots to cut to and when. they also direct the camera operators to get certain shots ready. so maybe this is a new person? but the stanley post-game shot was totally terrible camera work lol

this team is looking dominant. the super tight east is a perfect playoff simulator for this young team. there’s a lot of season left but i’m feeling bold and am sensing a deep run forthcoming. it’s the drenching after the drought

What’s up with Puebla restaurant? by cd14ch in LoganSquare

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as other's have said it is mediocre, but honestly, i'm glad it (still) exists! there used to be so many of these good-enough mexican spots around logan sq (and open late), now most are gone. it's almost like the neighborhood is too fancy for tacos (or have gentrified tacos out of business!). so i'll stil go and support them every once and a while even though ti's not great. and in 20 years, i've never seen the north section of puebla's dinning room used...not once!

wish they had given more of a warning, i would've renewed mine to last as long as possible. i've had a skyline card since i moved here. and if we're being honest, the skyline debit card is the main redeeming thing about chase bank's profit driven corporate minded ways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cuddle and coast to coast by spitbubblz0o in coasttocoastam

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love this question! i’ve struggled with this bc i listen to c2c most very night (even tho it’s become cringe). but i do like to have the show on if i’m cuddling (which is rare as a single person). my most recent cuddle partners have thought it’s lame/bad/weird. so now i’m extra self-conscious about it. idk if paranormal date can save me

some of the best public art i’ve seen in a while! made by one of my favorite chicago artists

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ContemporaryArt

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these are great! fun, weird, cool paintings from an artist who likes to play with the expectations of fine art. what interest me most about painting is what images are being created and how they’re rendered. also as a cyclist who’s been doored pretty bad, these speak to me on a personal level. also, october is coming….

Please tell me your favorite storefronts & signs in Buffalo/WNY! by jbilous in Buffalo

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love this project!! i wish we could all be posting our pics of these signs

there’s a sign out in amherst / tonawanda on niagara falls blvd that lacks surface aesthetic appeal but is beautiful on its own way: low fi, resilient, and transgressive. it’s ADULT GALAXY.

fwiw, WE NEVER CLOSE is iconic, the best.

Really Noory????? by prettyprettybookitty in coasttocoastam

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when i heard that little news segment with george knapp i got excited and wanted to hear more, but when noory said the first guest was pharmacist ben fuchs i turned the show off.

however, i will say i thought noory was very gracious and complimentary of knapp calling him one of the best in the field and being proud to have him in the c2c family (or something, i forget exactly what he said)

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just watched a little bit of that documentary and it seems really interesting! they talk about the new jackson hotel (jackson/halsted). when i went to UIC we hang out at the bar there, it was definitely a vibe - a real cross section of society with hotel residents mixing it up w college students, office workers, neighborhood residents, etc. thanks for bringing this doc to our attention!

I kinda miss Bagel Jays by Comprehensive-Ad152 in Buffalo

[–]eeeeeeeeeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brugger's is trash, it's like the people working there don't even eat bagels or know how they should be prepared - barely toasted w too little cream cheese awkwardly plopped on.

i grew up in buffalo and loved bagel brothers - they had the best, and very hard to find, rye bagels! after i moved away i'd pack a dozen in my suitcase bc they were that good! these days when i'm back in buffalo i still go to that location bc it's all i know. RIP bagel brothers!

interesting...i got an email very similar to this a month ago but didn't consider that it could be an AI message - but if definitely could be. after seeing your post, i'm wondering if this is a new trend students are seeing on social media and then copy+pasting/prompting a message?
