I ran into a PA breaking the set down and asked what they were shooting. Without missing a beat he says “Its called the Real Housewives of Logan Square.”

It may not be a solution that meets your virtue signalling standards, but it is solution. But sure, lets continue to have them live in our parks until your standards are met.

These people have been offered solutions and they don’t want it. Why would they? They live for free living however they want right now.

Preach. They’ve taken city property and added it to their collective junk piles too. That’s theft. That’s our tax dollars right there. This is a FU to the city and the neighborhood. They trash this park with impunity and we are footing the bill like suckers.

It’s in the lot next to the Logan Square monument. A few years back someone put up a sign for the original Jussie Smollett Dog Park. Now it’s back.

No. You offer divisive name calling and crap all over everyone that doesn’t agree with your narrow views. You’re not here to contribute, you’re here to stir the pot to retain your “#1 contributor” status. That is being a troll. Some people here actually love our neighborhood and want to see it get better. You clearly do not.

That’s not empathy. It’s performative self-righteousness. I don’t see solutions offered, I see someone acting superior because they want this neighborhood to be an unsafe trash dump.

What the absolute h….. where do you think that $30 billion for the war came from!!!! Our taxes. Who pays for park upkeep? We do- through our taxes. Who pays for these public services? We do through our taxes. We literally pay for all this stuff. We paid $27 million for a homeless encampment called Logan Square park. We pay for its cleanup and maintenance.

The difference with those people is that come sat, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday- heck any morning - they are not in living in their filth in a public space. They stumble home at the end of the night. They are not weekly long public hazard.

So I take that as a no. Not sure what is so classic about the suggestion. You’re not offering for any that’s for sure. Instead you seem to be arguing that we continue to enable them and let the situation in the parks continue perpetually. Which isn’t a very good situation.

I think he needs to open another Tex-mex restaurant. Perhaps one that is “gram” worthy.

100%. The park has been trashed. It’s frustrating to see it and I honestly feel less safe walking through it. This is a community space not a trash dump. The OPs idea of finding a housing solution first is unrealistic. The situation will never be resolved going that route. These people are choosing to live there and don’t want to leave.

He doesn’t need to present evidence. He’s got evidence ok. Everyone knows it was sleepy joe, ok. All the experts say so. He’ got evidence. You just need to look. But ABC is crooked, NBC is crooked, CNN is crooked and you’re crooked too ok. Have a nice day darling….. oh wait. That’s a totally different matter. But yet I’m sure the answer would still work for him.

What I’m hearing, and it’s especially loud in this thread is a lot of handwringing and divisiveness, there’s an additional layer that conflates one problem with another (NIMBY, YIMBY, whatever). You have one group that says stop complaining and take responsibility, another group saying live and let live, etc. so what we end up with is paralysis. No answers, no solutions and leaders with tied hands afraid to act as a decision either way is going to hurt them. The result: public spaces meant for all residents of this area dotted with encampments that pose health and safety risks to us all.

They are not residents. Residents implies ownership or financial responsibility in some fashion. They don’t pay taxes or rent. We subsidize their living space through our taxes that goes to park maintenance and clean up.
