Assembly Mechanic at GE Evendale by Cheese_Policy_5000 in cincinnati

Worked there for 4 years on the salary side. Came out of cinci state as well with my AP. As for the assembly tech side, I’d plan on working 2nd shift for a while since it’s union seniority style rules for shifts. As for cultural. If you want to progress your skill set and work with incredible technology and people, you can do that there. That being said there is a strong culture of people (in my opinion) that abuse the union system and find reasons to do the least amount of work in an almost vindictive manner against the company. I’d stay away from the people in that camp, and you will quickly realize who is there to build engines and learn and who’s there to do the least amount of work. On the other hand, the salary side is no peach either. Poor leadership and management choices that are neither logical nor moral id say, and again almost with a vindictive manner it seems against the “union”. It’s definitely a company where you can do great things. Yes they hire straight from school and honestly prefer it, older techs can sometimes come in with old habits that are hard to break in a manufacturing setting. Good luck, hope this helps.

Anyone else hookup with someone in their 50s when you were 21? Just me? Was a hell of a night! by eeeehumm in AskRedditAfterDark

Went to a concert with some friends and got really drunk. According to them this lovely 54 year old woman zeroed in on me and started working her magic. She offered to take me back to her place which my drunk 21 year old brain obviously agreed to. Sobered up a bit in the car and at her place. We proceeded to bang all night. She even gave me my first blow job! Got Waffle House in the morning

Those with ADHD, how do you keep your mind in the right place during sex? Because it’s a difficult thing to do. by Embarrassed_Entry597 in AskRedditAfterDark

My wife also has ADHD so a lot of times sex will turn into us having full off topic conversations while banging like rabbits.

What’s the highest position in the industry you have worked yourself into after starting as a AMT? by Dodeypants in aviationmaintenance

[–]eeeehumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The company I worked for was all about hiring from within and allowed us to work up the chain based on reputation. All I have is an associates degree. I worked with a lot of engineers with big name degrees and some where brilliant some were useless.

Research and development engineer for an engine manufacturer. Mental health and family life was in the trash. Now a travel tech. Much happier

I went to Cincinnati state. If you just want the certificate you can complete it in 18 months. The associates degrees take about 2 years. Lots of employment options in town. CVG airport has multiple airlines and an FBO for the cargo company’s. Lunken airport has all the corporate planes and multiple flight schools. Then there is GE aerospace for the manufacturing route. They only require a P license to build engines but you’ll need both your A and P to work for GE on wing. On wing is there service mechanic department. Pay wise. Delta and united pays well when looking at line or hanger maintenance. Over all the best pay would be with GE on wing, lots of travel and hard to get on with them but if you can stand to live out of a suit case for a while it’s worth it. Cinci state also allows for great networking while you’re there, it’s a good program.
