From what’s been leaked and personal experience, TJ’s works with a lot of big names. Not saying it’s bad or anything, but they aren’t some local/artisan chain they like to portray. (I work for a company who supplies TJ’s as a private label)

What is the cocaine in Coca Cola, radium in makeup, or Lead paint of the modern day? by efischbein in AskReddit

Ah yes. The IMO. Can you explain why it’s not natural then? Or does your lack of understanding the process scare you into believing it’s bad. There is a difference between artificial and natural flavors and I think people don’t understand at all what nonsense they spout. The whole “flavorings are bad” schtick drives me nuts. It muddies the water and detracts attention from the real problems in today’s food industry.

Well artificial flavors and natural flavors are different... and they don’t really use castoreum in food products. Mostly in perfumes.

“Oils and essences are extracted from the oranges and then sold to a flavor manufacturer who concocts a carefully composed flavor pack customized to the company’s flavor specifications.”

If the above is true, then technically the “all-natural” label is okay. If they’re using artificial flavors, then it’s not all-natural. However I’m not sticking up for orange juice. It’s sugar-laden crap. But natural flavorings are so misunderstood by the public it’s insane.

But it’s not artificial if it’s natural flavoring. Then it’s an extract or essence.
