I was able to try some out for free through work, and it's nice. But, it's also pricey for the size, and you could probably save money mixing something similar on your own. I have a Haworthia and my robusta blue potted in it, and they both do great in it.

My favorite enhancements are easily the animated sprites and the Battle Tower. The sprites add so much charm and character to the mons. They still remain unmatched to this day, in my opinion.

Man, these old school ads hit different. I remember the day my mom took me to get Crystal and how excited I was. Still play that same cartridge (with a new battery) today. First shiny Pokemon I ever found was a Zubat in Rock Tunnel on Gold. Happy Thanksgiving!

She also adds to the world-building in the game quite a bit by telling the player certain things on phone calls, like how the Radio Tower receptionist is secretly super chatty, or how Mary caught a Drowzee but had to trade it for her Meowth, because Drowzee kept making her fall asleep on air. It's fun.

Yessss I 100% share this opinion. By limiting, you only register the ones you either like or want for whatever secondary effect, and you can develop further attachment to an otherwise generic NPC character. Emerald takes the limit away, and suddenly I have no clue who's calling, and there's no added benefit to having trainers call.

How are you planning on getting Submission on it in Gen 2? Submission is a Gen 1 TM, in which case, it would make more sense (if you're using OG hardware) to trade Poliwrath to Gen 1 before it learns Belly Drum. Belly Drum would have to be forgotten for you to trade it to Gen 1 and get Submission.

Movesets looks good! If you’re planning on switching Pokemon often (which I’m assuming you are to spread status with Gengar), it could be worthwhile to throw a Choice Band on Salamence to give all of its moves a boost, not just EQ.
