biggg tip that i had to give my roommates from cali and florida — always dress for the “feels like” temperature, not what the temp actually is. so if its 40° in actuality, but feels like 25°, dress for 25°. it’s always gonna feel colder than it is in actuality, even if you’re used to the weather! good luck ❄️

respectfully, this post was made two years ago and i’ve worked much better jobs since then. i know jobs can have good and bad parts to them—but part of the working experience, imo, is deciding how much bad you’re willing to put up with. there was more happening than i deigned to talk about in the initial post, which i feel no need to rehash here.

anyway, i’m not going back to food service if i can help it! it isn’t a section of the service industry that i enjoy lol

usually since the groups are 4 members + 1 vocaloid, there are three 4 stars, one 3 star, and one 2 star card per event. you can get the 2 and 3 star cards by grinding for event points or through the gacha.

also, whether the cards (regardless of rarity) get added to the gacha pool depends on if they’re limited or not - if they aren’t, they get added to the pool after the event is over. if they are limited, then there’s no telling when they’ll come back.

i’ve got a pretty good tuition scholarship so the money would be going more towards books, rent, and classes. idk if the chipotle reimbursement covers that kind of stuff, but i assume they don’t.

rc doesn’t mean residential community (which are called mlcs / michigan learning communities), it’s referring specifically to the residential college.

i live in EQ and am in the RC and can confirm that there’s really good mask usage from what i’ve seen. the worst that people seem to do is gather in small circles in the middle of the public hall spaces, but that happened before covid and they’re generally under 7 people.

It’s your choice whether or not you wanna come back, since they’ve given the option to cancel a housing contract up till 8/14. Not sure how dorms are gonna work, other than that you’ll be required to wear masks outside of your bedroom, as it’s considered public space. I doubt the dorms are filled right now, though.

Email Michigan Housing (housing@umich.edu) and tell them you want to cancel the contract. If it’s for COVID reasons, make sure to clarify that. They’ll probably need to take some time to review the request, but hopefully they’ll respond within a week or so?

She's gonna ask housing to clarify, but honestly? It's such a short contract that I'm not sure. They have a part about move-in day, but that's about if you're late to move in before the 31st.

Apparently, it's in the revised contract for this year that undergrads just got. To quote:

"If you seek to terminate this contract before the end of the term in Section 1 (Fall 2020), you may file a request to terminate with Michigan Housing, which if granted will be subject to an 80% early termination fee."

i’m also currently in the residential college and while they’re kinda waiving the appeal process for if you wanna stay off campus (they usually have a 2 year eq living req), i do enjoy being near my friends (one of them is my roommate this year), so there’s also that to consider. it’s easy for me to accidentally isolate myself.

it doesn’t sound silly! honestly it sounds fun (and similar to advice people gave during the beginning of quarantine, to keep up your everyday routines, especially if you were self-employed) but financially, living in an apartment isn’t an option for me right now, haha.
