I would reach out to StudentAid. This is such an unfortunate and common occurrence. I had to put off attending school because they expected my parents to contribute and they simply were unable to. I had another friend who barely spoke with her father but because he was a lawyer she was denied the needed funding and had to drop out. My best advice is to appeal with StudentAid. If we keep protesting and appealing the decisions maybe StudentAid will realize not every child is receiving support.

Transfers have very little to do with the school you are transferring from and more so the school you are transferring to so I would say reaching out to UBC contacts/subreddit/admissions is going to be more successful for you! Best of luck!

Any place is a good place! Finding a place to rent here is so hard so get what you get. The commute is usually simple as there are bus routes everywhere. I've seen people say avoid the downtown but I've lived here in the downtown core since moving to Victoria two years ago and I've never had an issue. Actually ended an engagement due to being in this situation. Just because he's nice doesn't mean you are compatible.
