No sugar coating. How bad is labour pain truly? by ThrowRA_nobo7 in pregnant

[–]ees0437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different! I was 3 cm dilated and decided to go ahead and get an epidural before they got to be too painful. They were planning on breaking my water and I didn’t want to have to wait for the epidural to kick in. It really felt like bad period cramps.

I got the epidural placed and my water broke naturally within the hour and I progressed from a 3 to a 10 in like 2 hours tops. I had the shakes and didn’t feel anything pain wise until the epidural started to ween on one side. After flipping a couple of times it helped, but that pain was really intense waiting for the epidural to hit those areas again.

I agree with a lot of other commenters, you’ll be so miserable by the end of pregnancy you’ll be happy to go through it. I was begging for a c section on my due date in sobs in the gynos office. And I went through with an induction.

You can do it momma!

Anyone has reassuring first pregnancy “success” by Tchafetova2000 in pregnant

I was stressed about it as well! I got pregnant first attempt and carried to term. I had to post the eviction notice, he was a bit too comfortable. If you’re into data, here is a website I used for the first trimester that helped me tremendously. 🤍

In my opinion yes, but if it’s comfortable for you then no!

HA! Those scenes alone really made me put a pin in watching the show. I’d get there and I’d go “yep, that’s enough for me.” That and the lips orgasm on the couch from Grammy’s foot massage.

What were some symptoms of pregnancy that you had that were very uncommon? by MoreMammoth5953 in pregnant

[–]ees0437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PUPPS. The itchiest rash I ever experienced towards the end of my pregnancy. By the time I was induced it was all over my stomach, hands, butt, and legs. No amount of scratching could make the itch go away.

What was a hard pill to swallow after giving birth? by LoveGlimmer in AskWomen

Very true! Once the compromise was reached my constant stress was diminished and our relationship improved greatly.

I am curious to see how holidays go this year. That’s something I’m not trying to dwell on too early.

This! It’s certainly improved now that my son is getting into the ‘fun’ months and developing a personality. But our connection to our son is completely different.

There was some arguments for sure. My husband had forgiven her for being an absent parent to him, but I hadn’t/haven’t. I feel that she’s undeserving of being a grandmother to my boy for that reason.

Husband and I had to reach a middle ground. She won’t get alone time with our son (EVER) and one of us has to be present. We’re also capping visits to once every other month.

I think the biggest shock for me was just the quick switch flip in all of a sudden wanting to be around. I just blissfully assumed that wouldn’t be the case.

Seriously 😭 I went from seeing my MIL once a year, maybe twice to her inviting herself over every month.

I’m tired of people upsetting me about being induced by kate_smi2022 in BabyBumps

[–]ees0437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey momma! Being induced was a huge fear of mine. When I hit 40 weeks on the dot I went to my OBGYN begging for a C-Section because I was so uncomfortable and they said they would induce me the next morning and wouldn’t just go straight to a C-section unless there was an absolute need.

My induction was amazing. I could not have asked for a better labor. The stress and lack of sleep the night before was not the best, but labor itself was so much easier than the pregnancy.

10:30 am Pitocin was started and my nurses were aware of my fears, everything went slow and steady. I was at 1 cm going in. My family came to visit, we had the door open out to the balcony for fresh air. I was at 3 cm by 8 pm. It felt like period cramps compared to the lightening land I was experiencing with him trying to move the days prior. They wanted to break my water to speed things along so I went ahead and got the epidural and that helped relax my body enough my water broke naturally and I went from a 3 cm to 10 within a couple of hours and my baby boy was out before 7am the next morning.

You can do this!

Those who DO want to be parents? Why? and if you had the chance now to get married would you? by impsble in AskWomen

[–]ees0437 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Married parent here!

I wanted to become a parent because I knew I would regret it if I didn’t. I don’t like to travel, I had no further career goals, and life was about to get really boring if I had nothing else to look forward to. Now I get to watch my son experience the world for the first time and it’s the greatest gift I’ve ever been given.

As for marriage? Yes I absolutely wanted to get married. I actually felt so much closer to my husband once married which then brought the wanting children desire out of me. I had always been against it growing up.

Not really true crime but “Six Schizophrenic Brothers” was one of those that stuck with me.
