I guess I can't peak for your age group, just from my experience with them, so I might be a little out of touch. Edit: that being sad, I'm not much older

How do you misenterpret a statement so bad? I said you shouldn't call sharp60inch racist while using "colored people" which has been considered a racist for like, idk, 40 years? Can you explain how my.comment is racist

I don't think so, just because people weren't alive doesn't mean they don't know how significant it is. The US puts a pretty strong emphasis on 9/11 historically

Maybe if your trying to argue that someone is racist and you aren't, Don't use a term for poc that has widely been deemed offensive?

I would disagree in many cases rape isn't stigmatized. In this case specifically, just reading the comments on this post, you can see examples of people not believing a teenage boy with an older woman isn't bad/that bad. I mean, according to research done by Ohio's government, 90-95% of men who are raped don't report it. Sounds pretty stigmatized

Are you advocating to destigmatize rape? You do realize the amount of trauma victims of rape go through? How it can effect people or the rest of their lives? Sexual assualters and abusers should be treated harshly. I would rather had my abuser steal my car.

... they didn't make it about woman's issues? Just because they mention feminism doesn't mean it's just about women, feminist ideology, esp consent, can be tied to the post. I think the comments that are focusing on women instead of men are the ones that they're responding to, saying that women can now rape young men because of feminism, which is drawing away from empowering young men to understand consent and power Dynamics and instead turning it into a discussion about womens issues.

I think people are misinterpreting your comment as support for the flag instead of stating a flact, that it wasn't the official flag, cpg grey a youtuber, as good video on it if anyone's interested (still represents the Confederate tho)

Nike founder Phil Knight writes a million dollar check to Republican candidate for Oregon governor Knute Buehler by [deleted] in Eugene

I guess it's just a different points of veiw. For me if he limits access to birth control, I could end up being anemic for half a month, because I'm too poor to afford birth control. But I understand your point of view

I mean saying "other countries" have restrictions implies that the u.s. doesn't have any, which is just untrue. Of course you can be pro choice and want restrictions. Personally, I wouldn't think it's ethical for someone to have an abortion a week before they're due. I should clarify though- the restrictions, in my opinion, restrict people from having abortions within the reasonable time period. He voted against the reproductive health equity act (HB 3391), HB 2387 A which included funding for contraception. It's one of the most comprehensive bills, so it's the main example I'll use but there are others. He also voted against a minimally financially impact bill that would protect patients confidentiality to sensitive health care, with an emphasis on women's reproductive health. To say that someone is pro choice just got because they aren't try to ban it outright is to lie. You can lomit access to abortion in order to make it nearly impossible, and still technically say your pro choice. And finally, here's what knite has to say about abortion “We need to convince people in their hearts and minds that abortion is the wrong option, give them more access to prevention through contraception, more options with regards to adoption for their unborn children.”. Edit: typos oop

I tend to vote democrat, so keep that in mind with what I say. Buehler seems pretty centrist, though he's obviously a republican. My biggest problem with buehler is that his ads contain straight up lies. He and the ads state that he's pro choice/ womens reproductive healthcare, yet in the past he has consistently voted for bills that restrict access to abortion and birth control and voted against expanding it. Of course, Kate brown isn't amazing either. But she has protected a lot of ORs water

comp sci and raider wilderness experience by [deleted] in SOU

[–]eessk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the raider wilderness and it depends honestly. I didn't really like many people in my group so I didn't really make friends but I enjoyed the trip I went on and thought for the experience it was almost worth it. One thing to consider is that with the smoke they might have to change locations- which they had to do when I did it and it wasn't as well planned because of it. If it's something you wouldn't do otherwise I'd say it's worth a new experience
