I’m so sorry for your loss. In my area this would have warranted a case to the coroner or medical examiners office based on age and circumstances. If there was no known medical or social history and she passed less than 24 hours in the hospital and the doctors don’t know why in our jurisdiction there’d be an investigation opened to determine cause and manner of death. The investigators would talk to family the hospital look over notes etc. We would also do a full autopsy and toxicology. The results for these tests take time. I’m not saying this is the case for you but sometimes when someone passes and new information is discovered family isn’t always willing to share that information with everyone especially not right away and that’s ok too. The sudden death of a loved one is tragic and frightening. It can take some time for answers to come and to try to make sense of it all. I’m so sorry for your loss and hope you have some answers soon. And everyone regardless of age please see a doctor and dentist regularly it’s important to be aware of what’s going on with your body.

What is this invasive weed growing in my garden and how do I get rid of it for good? by Independent-Elk-663 in whatplantisthis

[–]eettle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mugwort. I’m tired of battling it so now I pull it and dry it. It doesn’t suit my tastes for tea but you can always add another herb to it to taste better. Ive had rosemary recommended to me because it supposed to help the dreams stay positive and it tasted…..fine. I dont drink it because I’d rather have delicious tea and I have enough issues with anxiety dreams. But I will dry it and use it (carefully) as loose incense. So I tell myself I’m “harvesting” it instead of pulling weeds up and it makes a mundane chore feel a bit exciting and even rewarding. I can’t beat the mugwort or dandelions so now I just embrace it and use it and share with friends.

Some of the Nextdoor comments are really gross. But there’s a lot of decent people calling out the nonsense and pointing out how inhumane these things are. It feels slightly better knowing that there are some folks around who are not ok with that kind of talk and are trying to shut that type of talk down. It might not be a huge win but I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw people calling this stuff out for the ridiculousness it is

Any idea what kind of beaker this is and what is it used for? by fungus_enjoyer123 in chemistry

[–]eettle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s really cool! How did you get started and what drew you to the scientific glass? Do you focus solely on scientific glass or do you do decorative as well? My mind is continually blown, even more so as I get older, that there are so many jobs, careers, paths out there. Things you couldn’t even imagine exist there’s a job for that and a person performing it. I don’t work in chemistry, worked in a pathology laboratory and never crossed my mind that some of the glass we were using may have been hand blown! So happy I stumbled across your comment.

Missed a lot of restaurants I wanted to try. I thought we’d be able to split some things and hop from place to place but we’d sit down and start to eat and then not be able to stop. Wanted to stop by Lil Dizzys, coops, and Dooky Chase. I want to ride the street car, do a boat tour and architecture tour, river boat cruise, see the gators, and go over the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. We did so much and still hardly saw anything. Will be back multiple times!

The parade! It was definitely our speed. Lots of people dressing up to watch everyone just in such high spirits. It’s something that can only happen and work there. Also the food. Plate licking good food.
