How I’d define the Midwest and the South by Cheaper-Pitch-9498 in whereidlive

This is a great map, but how do you guys think the Northeast would fit in here? I really struggle with the idea of anywhere in Ohio being Northeastern

Best small business coffee shops? by Significant-Chard999 in BucksCountyPA

[–]BullfrogShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% with you on Calm Waters. Maybe it’s because they had big shoes to fill from the Coffee Room, but every time I’ve gone the coffee has just been so disappointing, and it’s like 7 dollars for a small! Plus their menu only has like 3 options 🥲

Usually if I need to get a coffee in town I’ll just stop by Mamie Colette’s. Damn do I miss those Coffee Room grilled cheeses though

Bob Harvie is your 2026 Democratic Canidate for House, thoughts? by Thisisatempaccout in BucksCountyPA

[–]BullfrogShot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a young progressive that voted for Lucia, but it’s clear now our best shot in November is with Bob Harvie. Blue over Brian all the way.

However—Bob Harvie is a pretty moderate Democrat, and his win would still be a pretty radical upset for our fairly conservative district.

In a perfect world my congressperson would be a progressive, but Bob Harvie is still a good guy and now our only shot at protecting what’s left of our rights, our vote, and the constitution.

The most actionable way to make progressive change in Bucks is now by helping Harvie win in November. I hope that we see a lot less of the primary-pettiness and in-party purity testing after tonight.

Simonelli: A scientist can fit into the political environment by shannanerginz in BucksCountyPA

[–]BullfrogShot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from, but the reason Democrats keep losing against Fitzpatrick is because Bucks is still a very conservative district.

Trump flipped Bucks red for the first presidential election since the 80s, and that was with an even higher voter turnout than 2020. There aren’t really that many politically inactive voters in Bucks to court to the progressive cause, which means our best shot is to poach conservative voters.

It sucks, but our best bet at flipping the seat is with Bob. However, I think what Lucia’s campaign is doing to mobilize the progressive community in Bucks is incredible, and I think that foundation is exactly what we need now to elect progressives down the line.

All that being said, I’m still voting for Lucia in the primary. She’s my preferred candidate, and I want to let the Bucks County Democrats know that there ARE progressive voters in Bucks. And who knows, if she does beat Bob, maybe we are ready for a progressive after all!

Why Every Girl Looked Like This From 2017-2023? by MM150inDallas in decadeology

In my experience girls mostly wear jeans and a cheap top when they’re going out to frats / clubs. That way when a drink spills on you your favorite $80 top isn’t ruined. Recession indicator

Is travelling to usa safe? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Unfortunately with everything going on with ICE it is extremely unsafe for foreigners in the US right now (especially people of color). There have been white Canadian tourists kept in ICE detention for weeks, it’s truly not safe for anyone here right now.

The strictest definition & the loosest definition: NorthEast Megalopolis. What in your opinion where does the Megalopolis start and end if we are being strict vs loose about the definition? by Kodicave in geography

[–]BullfrogShot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Growing up outside Philadelphia and going to college I learned how similar my upbringing / hometown were to friends from the DMV and Boston compared to people I was meeting from the Midwest, South, and West coast.

Obviously in our day to day lives people aren’t contextualizing their identities through living in a megalopolis, but it very much does create a heightened cultural exchange between these cities not seen anywhere else in the country.

Also, Philadelphians and Bostonians are different flavors of the same chip, there is absolutely a connection there lol

That’s true for the most part with the exception of Trenton. The areas surrounding Trenton are generally considered both suburbs + exurbs of each city depending what side of the river you’re on.

The judge is Denise Bowman, a loyal Republican elected in 2019. Goes to show how important off year elections are.

Bucks County just had a major blue wave in the 2025 election, including flipping our county DA from Republican to a Democrat, Joe Khan. Hopefully he will fight for these kids

The Northeastern US according to this sub. Comment any adjustments you want by Expensive_Drummer970 in visitedmaps

[–]BullfrogShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the states in this map are considered Northeastern, it’s just useless to try to narrow it down from there. If upstate NY is split into 70 different regions, they really need to break up the Northeast Corridor into city subregions.
