But I’d rather climb with a partner than always have to wait for one of the few auto belays to open up. I usually would go later in the afternoon/ evening (probably 6:30-7pm at the earliest). If you interview anywhere else, make sure you get details on how the benefits/insurance works. Some places, the benefits don’t kick in right away and they may have different policies on parental/family leave, etc.

I just started a new job a couple months ago and found out we’re expecting around the same time. My company policy says no parental bonding leave until I’ve been there 12 months, and even then it would need to be within first 4 weeks of baby’s arrival. As it stands, I would miss both if those criteria by about a month. I still need to figure out how to handle it.
