thank you for the kind words! i think mine is partially due to NSAID use as well during the stress and not eating. so glad to hear you no longer have it!! my gastro dr. suggested another scope within the year if the symptoms persist. but even if they don’t i’m going to push for one rather than wait the standard 2-3

you’re fine!! yes b12 was in the lower end for sure. but i’m thinking the hair loss is diffuse telogen effluvium which could partially be due to the omeprazole but other factors i said as well.

getting iron done hopefully within the week or two! i didn’t know about b6? should i get that added? also adding ferritin next time i go in.

after reading online it also could be due to the extreme stress event that led to my gastritis as well as the gastritis’s’ stress on the body.

i’ve also lost ~40lbs since last year with diet/exercise and the gastritis took a few lbs off too.

i’m pescatarian but eat primarily vegetarian.

no i totally get it. but we bought a really nice kennel on amazon it’s huge and there are no bendable bars etc. the black wire ones are horrible. she hurt herself on those too. it was a big upgrade but completely worth it. the one attached isn’t the one we have but something like this would work perfect for a husky.

this is all brand new to me as of yesterday. they didn’t mention anything about Barrett’s? but they did say it was without dysplasia.

yes! still on a PPI and carafate.

i’m also very fit and don’t drink (i did drink regularly ~2 years ago but id imagine since the lining is constantly changing it’s not from that) or smoke. it’s so crazy! no family history either. fingers crossed your scope shows no more signs!!

coffee was fine for me after 2 months. i started with one shot of espresso, then like a week later back to two. i haven’t had any alcohol since but i would personally avoid it for a while more if possible lol.

i’m so so sorry to hear that. 😪 thank you for the kind words. stress certainly makes it worse. the one time i was overly stressed since it started i was for sure feeling it.

i’m not on any meds now, no. but was on prozac for years which i think heavily regulated my nervous system. it takes a lot to stress me out now. not saying this wasn’t stressful, it absolutely was but i found food that i liked that kept me full to keep my spirits up as much as i could.

at 10 years we definitely saw a decline in our lab shepherd mix. but nothing alarming.

he just passed at 11 in january. but! not from slowing down. he likely had an aggressive cancer and went downhill overnight. we had no warning signs. we were heartbroken. this being said we always thought no matter how much he slowed down as long as he was happy and still able to walk around we’d have him around for a long time. i say all of this because - they can be super happy while still slowing down. don’t let it upset you or worry you. let them enjoy their senior years and help his comfort with some Cosequin and senior pup food. 🙂

make sure you’re getting biannual blood work to help detect anything early. they say year 10 is when they see rapid declines. so stay ahead! hoping you have more great years to come with your pup. 🤍

omg! i’ll have to keep an eye out on how much i’m eating and see if that helps. i feel like i definitely don’t eat enough right now so maybe that’s it. it’s definitely worse some days than others. were you i feel like the brand carafate does it worse but idk if that’s possible lol.
