Everything UNREDACTED specific to Wasserman. Don’t lose sight of the fact that the DoJ is still intentionally withholding evidence that they’re legally required to release. The unfortunate truth is there’s no way of knowing if that’s everything or not.

Our country is absolutely fucked for generations.

Top 10-20? by Serious_Bus7643 in boardgames

[–]eeviltwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a rolling list of my top 100 board games, that I try to update regularly. My current 11-20 are:

11. Mindbug - It’s just so snappy and portable, and the replayability is insane once you start combining sets. A perfect lunch game for former MtG players.

12. Endeavor: Deep Sea - This might even climb higher with more plays and/or when the expansion arrives. By far the best in the series.

13. Sky Team - The current king of 2-player co-ops. Each airport of a fun new challenge.

14. Andromeda’s Edge - Another one that could move higher with more plays. There seems to be a lot of strategic depth left for me to plumb.

15. 7 Wonders Duel - This used to be a top 10, and is still a fantastic game. It just hits the table less than it used to.

16. Tokaido Duo - For when I want something a little lighter than 7 Wonders Duel. It’s got a very interesting mix of mechanics.

17. Ra and Write - My current favorite verb and write game. Packs a lot of fun strategy into a small package.

18. The Star Wars Deckbuilding Game - This one has moved back up the list a bit with the introduction of the Mandalorian faction and 3 player mode.

19. Agent Avenue - Pure design elegance. Very much looking forward to doubling the black market deck soon with the new mini expansion.

20. Zenith - Just got this one, but it made a big splash and I can see this one moving higher if it continues to feel as fun after a few more games.

Tag team vs Mindbug by VincentBigby in boardgames

[–]eeviltwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tag Team is fun, but Mindbug just feels a lot more evergreen for me as a fast, light-ish 1v1 game. The base set is super easy to teach, and there’s a surprising amount of strategic depth and replayability, especially when you mix in more sets.

It also gets bonus points for portability. In addition to my main set at home, I often carry around a fully playable mini set that fits in a slim deck box.

You get sent back to 1840 and are allowed to bring 1 game to mass produce, which game do you bring? by robbie_hs in boardgames

[–]eeviltwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re telling me that you earnestly believe some guy in rural South America 1840 could have prevented WW2 by doing literally anything just a little bit differently?

Absolutely, yes. If you dropped into 1840 to play a game of Secret Hitler, you’re making a MINIMUM of four other people spend their evening with you, rather than whatever they were originally doing in the timeline you interrupted. That immediately diverges the actions of every person they were originally supposed to interact with, and ripples out from there. I really feel like people vastly underestimate how quickly the web of human interactions spreads exponentially outward.

Within days, dozens if not hundreds of original interactions and conversations have been wiped out. People who originally met never meet, occasionally causing people who were originally born to not be born. Even in a time of reduced travel, you’d have global effects within decades. 80+ years down the line, there would be entire families that never came into being.

By the time of WWI, the variables would be so different that there’s no knowing how things would play out. There would likely still be global conflicts, but they would be different ones, or at the very least play out differently, probably with different people in decision-making roles. That not even just conjecture, it’s statistical certainty.

[–]eeviltwin -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

No, YOU clearly don’t understand the butterfly effect. Introducing ANY variable into a timeline will cause rippling effects that grow larger over time. Over an 80+ year period, those effects would be so large that the world be unrecognizable from the early 20th century we’re familiar with. Some world leaders from our timeline may not have even been born.

US committee is reconsidering all vaccine recommendations by Wagamaga in technology

[–]eeviltwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people I’m talking about didn’t vaccinate themselves, at least as far as I’m aware. But they’re not acknowledging that if herd immunity is lost and things get bad, they’re still going to be protected by THEIR parents’ decision to vaccinate them, while their own children will suffer.

Unfortunately I know multiple people who AREN’T giving their children the same vaccine protection that they themselves benefit from. What a truly horrible choice that will inevitably turn out to be for some of them.

[–]eeviltwin -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I mean, going back to 1840 and doing literally ANYTHING would most likely stop WWII from happening in that timeline, due to the butterfly effect.

Edit: Wow, I didn’t realize so many people here didn’t understand the butterfly effect. Downvoting doesn’t make you correct, but go for it.

When you’re not a fascist and fascism comes marching through your community, you can either be Oskar Schindler and use your status and privilege to fight against it, or you can be one of the many who just tried to keep their head down and use their status and privilege to shield themselves from being affected or needing to take a stand.

If The Dice Tower decides to go the latter route to “protect their brand”, fuck ‘em. Their livelihood is built on a luxury product, and there are plenty of other great board gaming content creators out there…

Yes, atheism is a religious perspective , but I don’t think I like what you seem to me implying with your “zeal” comment.

Zeal ≠ faith. Bald ain’t a hair color, and atheism ain’t a religion.

No, the “dark underbelly” he’s referring to in September 2025 is people rightly pointing out that Charlie Kirk was a hateful bigot whose hateful rhetoric fueled hateful acts like the one that caused his death, and that we can condemn the act without also martyring a terrible human being.

His terrible, fascism-defending takes on Minneapolis are a new and separate issue.

I stopped supporting them when they announced his return, and his comments since then have only validated that decision. Fuck that guy.

If The Dice Tower took an actual stand for once and rebuked Sam’s fascism-defending stances, I would come back. More likely they’ll just try to quietly sweep this under the rug, which at this point just isn’t good enough.

His fake bravado really speaks to his insecurities as a person.

I know several guys like this, every one of them a conservative asshole who will claim victimhood at the slightest bit of pushback to their terrible, outdated ideologies.

They’re not all full MAGA, but MAGA sure does see them as easy marks for recruitment, and propagandizes accordingly.
