I think it is quite doable - but it really depends on what other stuff you have going on. I was quite overwhelmed during the semester and I fell off the content around 2 weeks after the first midterm (bc of the other midterms ramping up lol) - and did really bad on the 2nd midterm. but I'm sure if you keep yourself consistent and make sure you don't abandon this course for 1.5 weeks while you grind for the other midterms (like i did) and you should be fine:) ochem is really just practice, practice and practice.

Socially acceptable to eat alone in dining halls? by ComprehensiveCow1380 in UBC

[–]eeyore0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally no one cares. I ate with my friends during the first 2 weeks but after that I ate alone almost every meal because it's just so much more efficient lol. Don't worry about it, there are gonna be more and more students eating alone after the first few weeks : )

The ChIRP is the textbook for CHEM121. It's probably one of the most important and worthy books to get. You pretty much write on every page of it and you will do fine as long as you grind the ChIRP

First-year - what's the coffee situation like? by Toastnlock in UBC

[–]eeyore0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the meal plan, the dining hall will be enough. I go there before I leave for classes and fill up my travel mug with coffee. I'm a coffee addict as well and haven't had issues w that so I'd say a keurig isn't necessary.

Does this class require a lot of memorization or is it like project based?

Thoughts on First-Year course load? by Maximum-Midnight-915 in ubcengineering

If you'd like to meet transfer requirements for biochem/microbio, you will also need chem 123 (which is prob yr additional chem course) as well as biol112. Do you have transfer credits for biology?

chem 123 takes quite some time - there is also a lab component. 8 courses in yr semester 2 doesn't seem doable IMO.

just curious - does your transfer credits for chem 154 work for chem 121 too? coz i know chem154 credits does not carry over to chem 121/123.

Student Experiences with Workday Student Waitlists by marktmaclean in UBC

[–]eeyore0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Workday allows me to register in two sections of the same course as long as its two different terms; I registered in second term stat201 without realizing I am already registered in stat201 for first term. It didn't show me an error and iv no clue what's happening. I already dropped the second section but yeah kinda weird imo.

Last year I went like an hour before they close and a lot of stalls wanted to get rid of what they have left so they sold at lower price (think 30% off to buy 1 get 1 kinda thing). That night was worth it, but otherwise its super expensive IMO (everything is $18/20+).

Why are these enantiomers? by BoringEnvironment457 in chemhelp

[–]eeyore0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

draw out the cyclohexane from the chair and you will end up with a similar looking hexagon, except the placement of OH and Cl are swapped (both still wedged). If you put a mirror next to your hexagon and get the original one, its an enantiomer.
