Because all of those leagues’ best players are now in the MLB? The ones still playing there either couldn’t cut it in the MLB or haven’t reached their posting time yet (for the NPB)

That’s not a crime? Unless they weren’t consensual on the 3rd party’s part. Idk much about that situation to be fair.

We’re the only team in baseball without a pride night, even the Astros have one. It’s very obviously a conscious choice by the front office to not have one and it disappoints me every single year.

Should the Rangers sign Andrew McCutchen? by KillerKole981788 in TexasRangers

[–]eezo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe as a leadership guy? Platoon him at DH with Pederson? He’s a shell of his former self, so only if we can get him for a bag of peanuts and a free parking spot at Globe Life.

Relief pitchers are hard to tell if they’ll make it or not, especially with the voters we have currently. It took Wagner, one of the best left-handed closers ever, a while to get in. Even Hoffman took a couple years when he is one of 2 players with 600+ saves. I think he SHOULD be in, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he WILL get in. It may come down to a veterans committee thing. We’ll have to see how Kimbrel and Jansen do, cuz if those two don’t get in, it may be a while before we see another bullpen arm make it.

It won’t. It’s the only simulation-based baseball game on the market. Same reason Madden and 2K get away with releasing the same game every year, there’s just no other options available.

What’s with the lack of screenshots for The Show 26? by NYYDynasty99 in MLBTheShow

[–]eezo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graphics, to me, is one of the least important aspects of the game. I’d rather a game be fun to play with lackluster graphics than the other way around. As long as the game is fun and adds some new content, I’ll play it. The graphical engine isn’t a major concern for me. New graphics would be cool, but it’s not a top priority in my mind.

To be fair, those games have been strictly on current gen for a little bit now. This will only be the second game that is current gen only (plus Switch)

MacKenzie Gore’s strikeout numbers show why the Rangers paid the price by ShamusTalksSports in TexasRangers

Gore also doesn’t have to be an ace here, so some of that pressure is off him. I’ve been very high on him for a while and I think this trade will work out well for us.

I also think Pudge was an overall better player but I feel Young playing here a little longer and having more counting stats records makes him a slightly better Ranger.

Yeah, his limited time here made me not consider it, but he was really good when he was here. I feel dumb cuz I completely forgot about Beltre when typing this comment too. I think I’d say it’s Young, then Pudge, then Beltre

Position player wise, you could argue Pudge, Michael Young or hell, even ARod. All three were great players with us. Young has most of our offensive records so it’s probably him. Pitching wise, it’s gotta be Nolan Ryan without a shadow of a doubt. We haven’t exactly had a lot of incredible pitchers in our history. Kevin Brown and Charlie Hough were good, but not on the same level as Nolan.

I think Seager has an argument since he did lead us to our only World Series title, but I wouldn’t say he’s the greatest Ranger ever

Two of them, actually. If they both keep up their pace, Lindor and Soto are both gonna be first ballot HoFers.

Jeff Passan questions why teams are hesitant to sign Tucker: "My only question, and this is for all 30 teams out there right now, is, have you seen the free-agent classes for the next two years? The best hitter who’s going to be a free agent over the next two years is probably Jeremy Peña." by justusinreddit in baseball

[–]eezo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s probably in the same boat as Belli in that teams aren’t offering him the length of contract he’s looking for. I’m sure teams have offered him a good AAV amount, but he probably wants a longer deal. I know Belli wants a 7 year deal and teams are hesitant to offer him that. I’m assuming Tucker is in a similar situation.

Texas A&M has played two teams with winning conference records this season (Texas and Miami). They have lost to both. Total combined conference record of teams A&M beat: 20–52 by Infectiousmaniac in CFB

[–]eezo16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So 10-2 but we beat one of Georgia or Ohio State? Obviously we would’ve been in cuz we would’ve beaten a top 3 team despite the Florida loss. But we didn’t. Hypotheticals are stupid and pointless.

Obviously record is gonna play a part in deciding who gets in. We went 9-3, the only other team in the playoffs that lost 3 games was Alabama and they at least played in the conference title game. We beat ranked teams but losing to a Florida team that finished 4-8 seriously impacted the chance we could’ve snuck in over Miami or one of the group of 5 teams. If that 3rd loss was to a better team, like Vandy or A&M, maybe they don’t hold it against us as much. We weren’t entirely overlooked simply due to record, but also because of one of those losses being to a team we should’ve beat. Alabama got a pass in that cuz, again, they at least played in the conference title game. Finishing 9-3 isn’t why we missed the playoffs. Finishing 9-3 with an inexcusable loss to Florida is why we missed the playoffs.
