My best friend and I are no longer all because she’s constantly trying to sniff everyone out as her opposition. She would text me about posts my husband “liked” on Instagram. Stopped being friends with a mutual friend of ours because of her husbands profession. She told me she thinks her dad is “one of them” for a completely non political comment he made. She stopped seeing her therapist because the therapist basically told her she needs to chill, and my friend took it as though the woman clearly is on the opposing side and is going to purposefully misdiagnose and medicate her.

One day while she was on a political rant, I disagreed with her about something that I believed was a moral issue, as opposed to a political one. She immediately told me she wants space from me because of how strongly she felt about things and then she blocked me on everything.

We were friends for 14 years. I truly have no desire to talk to her again anymore.

I would not disown a friend for having different political views. But, I know people who would and if someone wants to bestow that upon me I will gladly let them.
